Technically it was superior to the famicom, in a base hardware form, but when it comes down to dedicated bus hardware via the cartridge bus custom chips, its not that great. I'm sorry, but the famicom is a better console with more dedicated third party support that were willing to develop some amazing hardware to go with the awesome software they developed and stored on the rom chip. No sega master system can produce fm 16-bit music but for some odd reason the developers in japan chose not to allow game programmers to use the fm sound chip.
@Doommaster19942 жыл бұрын
Both the Master System/Game Gear and NES had a sound chip with four channels: NES had Two pulse wave channels with four different possible widths (though one of them is flipped from another) Triangle wave White and periodic noise generator DPCM channel (rarely used) SMS/GG had Three 50% width square waves White noise generator (I think it also had a periodic mode) The NES music was by Marshall Parker of Beam Software. Since Tiertex developed this, I can only guess either Mark Tait or John Hancock did the Sega arrangements. Unfortunately, the Master System/Game Gear manuals I don't believe are preserved, so I can't check it.

Really good game that doesn't get enough attention from retro reviewers. Mostly because they are American and have a collective butt fetish for Nintendo so can't ever admit to enjoying a Sega game that isn't also on a Nintendo console like Sonic.
@imfsresidentotaku96992 жыл бұрын
You could've ended your comment at "American" and that would've been enough, as that explains why this version doesn't get as much attention, but no. You just had to go on a condescending and vulgar rant about their Nintendo preferences. Them being American would explain that they are simply not aware of this version. Also, don't act like you know what the reviewers' thought process is. You aren't them. And not everyone is you.

I didnt like the Super Star Wars games. Better graphics and sound, sure. But the games were rediculously difficult, and i like hard difficulty settings on games, but it broke the games. Super Star Wars is just not balanced well. They throw all this shit at you and its not even fun. The games suck.
@imfsresidentotaku96992 жыл бұрын
Words cannot describe how very wrong you are. No, the difficulty of the Super Star Wars games does not break them. There is definitely a frustration factor, but there's a balance between frustration and fun. Those games are mostly fun. They can be annoying, but they're annoying enough that people still want to keep playing them. If the game throws a bunch of shit at you, just keep calm, assess the situation, think ahead, tread carefully, and you'll make it through, even if it takes a couple of tries. But after all, these games, like a lot of games at the time, are trial and error. Bottom line, the Super Star Wars games most definitely do not suck. And this video isn't even about those games, so your little hot take is completely shoehorned.
