A very effective kick for self-defense is the stop kick, also known as the "jeet tek." This technique involves delivering an oblique leg kick to block or halt the forward movement of your opponent. A similar variation of this kick can frequently be observed in MMA, performed by martial artists such as Jon Jones. Additionally, it is commonly utilized in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. Kevin Goat demonstrates the application of this kick in self-defense scenarios.
For more videos like this, we have put together an online course with Kevin Goat learn more about it here: budobrothers.tv/pages/self-de...

Also just a bone rack tall and skinny gray hair old kid. Last year one rip my bicycle out of my hands. I force bike to land derailleur side up and stomp on it to fast lock it. He keep doing side jabs to ear. Next day I figure it out he had a pen like thing in his hand trying to damage my ear drum. I'm a target as they do the buddy system I'm a lonner. Poster I seen many of your videos, somehow this one just click on my clean fast because I can't last long, yes i smoke and know to never pull out a knife or take belt heavy metal end for defence. Why offer as odds are game over and can't play again in Life. Sad thing is we can see this so can they. At 15 first time from a 20 gun in hand high as a kite. We do buddy system so do they, Knife in their hands, jack us up also everyone else using the laneway on the big city main strip. Their so bold after they know how to get easy money. Ride Easy

@@matthewvarnam4302 Just watch the vid in slo motion and stop wasting my time pls. When he does the stop kick, the opponent's leg is the lead leg, the whole body weight is on that leg. Ya it's called jumping on back mount and taking there neck....if there focused on attacking someone else what do you need to be taught???? Hit them with a fuckin haymaker and jump on a catch or take the neck from behind and end it right then and there 😂 look man first off this elliptical kick is HARD to land correctly, it's a sweet spot kick....I don't recommend trying this in a street fight unless your ready to eat the overhand punch coming straight at your face....cuz when you throw the elliptical kick you square your body up to theres which gives them a way bigger target and makes it harder to roll with the punches or slip em (which is actually VERY effective in a street fight) if you wanna use some type of stop kick use the front leg sidekick. you can stay much further away while throwing it, it lands harder and your body stays bladed making it easier to move laterally and roll/slip away from there wild punches. Sorry bubba, stop kicks are cool but the elliptical is not an easy one to master or more people than jon jones would use it effectively! These "tutorials" are garbage.

Seriously though, come up behind them, grab them in a rear naked choke hold while simultaneously buckling there knee from behind with your knee or simply pull them down of top of you once you have your grip locked. If it gets physical and you defend yourself, be prepared to explain your actions. Such as: why you had no choice, no escape. Some pre incident thinking is in order here. Remember, you may be filmed, you may face unfriendly witnesses. Don’t survive the confrontation and end up with an assault or manslaughter charge. The law can work in your favor or against you, plus civil suits are a thing these days. Just a few considerations.

Be careful, a skilled person with a blade is just gonna stick in the leg or slash you. Going for control all gas no brake if you have no chance to run versus possibly getting your leg caught and shanked up isn't worth it if you have the option to flee. Above all else, remember they had every chance not to be your enemy before this. Meaning do what you truly have to, in order to go home safe, but it doesn't always mean you have to crack the noggin of your opponent to do so.

No one would walk into an attack with a normal stride. Once they get in range they usually stance up and start to shuffle in. As usual, these so called self defence experts miss the mark. Usually comes from sitting around a table and imagining attacks and not actually trying them out. Also, kicks are not typically as precise as hands techniques. Trying to place a kick squarely on a knee that's in motion and coming with force would be pretty difficult. Finally, have these guys ever tried to stop someone coming at them aggressively. Its pretty hard to do straight on. In high school I was 5-10 170 pretty cut and training TKD and kung fu. One day in the gym, I was hanging out with some of the football players and they asked me if I could defend my self against one of them. I wasn't cocky (these guys were tanks) but I was willing to give it a shot. Time after time these guys plowed through my defence lol. Luckily these were good guys who weren't trying to hurt me and we all joked about it + plus I was "that little guy" in the weight room so they kind of respected my hustle. It was a tough pill to swallow but my training was wasted time just like this technique

So here where I live. They're not reaching for your sunglasses. The person either has a knife and/or gun and wants to take your wallet and life. In a fist fight sure it might help if you're competent enough to pull it off. However I wouldn't listen to these guys. They'll get you and your friend hurt "practicing" like he says to do, or they'll get you killed. The fuck a shin kick gonna do when you've been shot or stabbed. If the attacker is close enough to reach for your sunglasses, he's close enough to stick ya too. Are you willing to get that close to another person that has a knife and wants to use it on YOU? Rethink about what you're being told to do people. Personally, I'd rather carry and not need it. Being in jail is much better than 6 ft in the ground. Be smart, be safe, defend yourself.

If you hit the knee and buckle it, yes. Most times its gonna be a hella dead leg and a bad mistep to the ground if you got a grip on them as you delivered it. Riskier than an ankle sweep where you keep your footing but does have a bigger payout possible. Ankle sweep where you step between their legs, you have to guide them the rest of the way, versus the thigh where they may very well fall on their own accord whether you touch them again or not.

That is BS!! That actually came from HapKiDo! It’s called the “In Shinbone Kick.” I have my 1st Degree in the style and it is a signature kick that has been around for a very long time. Stop stealing moves and putting a new name to it!! Take the post down and show some respect, and learn your history on martial techniques.

I don't know how you guys learned to kick for defense... Short kicks do not create or hold distance. You're teaching people that it's cool to let an attacker close distance and get inside the wire before you act. That makes no sense to me at all
@xXScissorHandsXx
@xXScissorHandsXx 10 ай бұрын
It's protecting the limited distance remaining and creating an opportunity to escape. My guy you act like ambushes don't happen or that you can properly "ocular pat-down" anybody... stopping them sooner is great if you can, this is for if that failed and it is just one option.

The video says "Keep attackers at bay", and you're using a kick technique... not CQC... and the guy is approaching you from 10-20 feet away and walks straight into fighting distance with no resistance at all. Ambushes and pat downs are not the point. It's about distance and timing... You're letting him inside, letting him act first, and hoping your skills will hold up. That is how people get seriously hurt

@Grasshopper062284 You are doing yourself a disservice acting like this did not give an option to use. Do you, keep the over the top supposed extra security. But don't act like this thigh kick isn't going to help in the situation it was displayed in. If you see every person closing a distance of less than 4 meters and can figure out what their intent is, kudos, personally I call bs. We live in a modern world where it's common place to be nearer than we'd possibly like to be without having much choice. Keep a wall behind you and walk like a spook, that's all fine and dandy but a real threat will wait till your in the bathroom or some stuff like that if you just show your hand in that way.

@Grasshopper062284 lmfao sure pal... same to you but you just remind me of Mac on Always Sunny 100% hence the ocular patdown reference. Again just risking showing your hand prematurely. All for being the porcupine but don't show your spines till you need them.
