Hey. I'm a visual historian who colourises old images. Been practicing colour grading, but I'm not too sure I've nailed it yet. Would be great to see what you could do with one of them!
@TKNORTH3 жыл бұрын
Sounds so interesting! It also sounds challenging! I always say to people that finding one image and then trying to match colours on a new image is a really great way to practice your grading. It's a good way to learn how to achieve different looks!
@Al-mx1uo3 жыл бұрын
@@TKNORTH I'll definitely try that. With colourisations, though, the colour you're putting on is your own interpretation of what the scene might have been. You can sometimes know what colour something was because postboxes are red, right? But you can't know what colour someone's jumper was beyond, say, the grey is too dark for it to be white. So you interpret. Which I think makes grading the image after harder.

What's your opinion about a Photographer having his own unique edit vs editing to enhance your images based on existing colors in the image as you Just did.
@TKNORTH Жыл бұрын
I think you can still have your own unique style but still approach each image slightly differently based on the light and colors! So both can exist to some degree in my mind. Personally I tend to use presets most of the time, but some images I'll change the presets a bit more than others based more on the photo.

What's the difference between using the wheels versus adjusting the HSL, shadow, highlight, and exposure sliders? Is it simply easier to finesse, or am I missing something else? Thanks.
