In the Nursing Process, when do you prioritize such as using the ABC's and Maslow's Hierarchy? Which step does this usually occur in? The assessment of the patient, or the diagnosis? In my program the instructor says sometimes there's a step between assessment and diagnosis called analysis. Does it occur here? Also - when you're prioritizing, you are usually prioritizing the multiple findings from your assessment correct? Thanks for your help always ♡

Great questions, Hailey M!!! Most of the time when prioritizing patient care and the order in which you are going to go about caring for your patients ABC's always take priority. Those are the main things you will need in order to function, whereas Maslow's Hierarchy factors the ABC's in, it also moves past the ABC's and onto other basic needs. Analysis can be the next step of your assessment, once you have fully assessed your patient your wheels should be turning thinking okay why is this happening, and what else should I be looking out for.
