Hearing the term progressive overload in a tekken video caught me off guard, usually only hear that phrase spoken on gym tube

As a musician, this put a VERY huge smile on my face. Learning music and practicing using a metronome is groaned at in all levels of playing music but there is no way out of it. You HAVE to practice with a metronome or a drum beat to get better at playing in time. So glad to see its application in my favorite game of all time as well

As another musician, I get it 😂. Once you use the metronome, you can never go back.

tried it. worked. made my electrics more consistent too. i use a stick and i have a hard time using it, but the metronome trick really helped me out here. good video

Better wave dashes always help with the electric inputs, im glad the video helped!

That’s a really interesting method to practice I’ll definitely be trying it out

Ngl that might be a very good exercise for beginners and also for musicians getting into Tekken, I've never really associated the metronome as I've alr had piano practice without metronome prior to playing tekken so I just had a jumpstart to begin with!

For people on pad, try using triplets and see if that works.

I like to consider the [d,d+f,n,f] as one block. So i start with a [f,n] input, then repeat. That way the cycle ends out of wavedash, and i can sidestep or block etc after without cancelling.

Interesting method! I suspect this may be helpful with timing electrics as well by just adding 2 punch to the d,df on the second beat.

First of all, thank you for this no bs guide and straight to the point. This helps me a lot as a leverless player and you earned my sub. Made me watch you anti character guides too. Can you do the same for Korean Backdash and the optimal speed for Korean backdash?
@xiSyndox4 ай бұрын
Than you for the sub! Currently im focusing on anti character guides, but a KBD guide is definitely coming!

Can you do a video on KBD?

Metronom should also help with electrics. I find doing them much easier once I "feel" the rhythm of the movement properly
Step one should be use a hitbox because getting the motion down on stick is hard enough
@HeartPliz4 ай бұрын
Interesting theory. But is that transferable to stick? I thought the input for wave dash/ crouch was forward quarter circle forward (down, down/ forward, forward) forward. How come you are using D DF D. Is that just how lever less does it
@xiSyndox4 ай бұрын
It is 100% transferrable to stick, what I did in the video is ( F->DF->F->DF ). So it’s essentially just chains of forward into quarters circle forwards.

When i heard in the first few minutes of this video that you are using a metronome. I'm certain that its legit, i have the same process in T7 before for the omen thunder god fist for heihachi and the PEWGF for kazuya

0:54 i think the notation is actually f, n, d, df, f, n > f, n, d, df, f, n > ... Not f, n, d, df, n > f, n, d, df, n > ...
@le_i_grec4 ай бұрын
Doing the d,df motion will naturally buffer a "F" when releasing "DF"

yo whats that controller, can you tell me the model?
Wavedashing on a hitbox is like playing Special style :p. No effort at all
@inksword60294 ай бұрын
Learned on both pad and hitbox, same difficulty for both, maybe with lever it's harder
@imjay21184 ай бұрын
Only critique I have is that it's a little dishonest with the 1-2-3-4 visual of f-d,df-f-d,df. It should be f-d,df,f-f-d,df,f

Most impossible mechanic in any fighting game lol I might just buy a hit box so I can have this advantage
@KhIDp0is0N4 ай бұрын
I'ma make it even more simple. It's Korean backdash but forward.
@xiSyndox4 ай бұрын
A clean korean backdash input is [ B, D+B, B ], if we reverse it we get [ F, D+F, F ]. If you go to training and try to input [ F , D+F ] , nothing will come out. The reason it doesn't work because a wavedash needs a QCF (Quarter Circle Forward) input after the Forward input. So instead of [ F, D+F ,F ], it should be [ F , QCF , F ]. I hope its clear!
@KhIDp0is0N4 ай бұрын
@@xiSyndox A clean KBD input is [B, B, D/B] repeated. Mishima-style crouch dash is [F, *, D, D/F]. When you are attempting KBD, you naturally input 'down' as part of that action. Do a Wavu on 1P side, then go do a KBD on 2P side. We don't even process that it feels the same, but it is!
