Hi just a silly doubt when I open the grayscale image in photoshop it still has RGB channels how? I asked chatgpt as well but the answer was not satisfactory!

01:47 Nope.. I don't know what is color 😅 I think I'll struggle for rest of my life in color concepts.. The more one dives in the more is found.. There's color models, spaces, spectrum (may be they mean same thing?).. in some cases Two terms can be interchangeable in other cases they are different.. For video there's some different concept of color, There are different representation of colors, RGB, HSL, HSV, Lab.. In printing color is different.. There are different standards ACES being the newest (?).. There's color depth and conversion b/w them.. There's so much 😖

You're getting confused by looking too far into it. RGB is the default in Substance tools, and is how textures are stored digitally. Color management standards like ACES don't have to come into play unless you need them. For doing core stuff in Designer just knowing RGB and maybe HSL when needed is totally fine.
