Love @DangerousMusic gear. Own many units. The DBox+ also needs a cold boot frequently as it will hang. Unsure of a fix.

Yeah!! Im having a problem with their d box plus!! It crapped out just over 30 days!! Not very friendly either but im sure they were very nice to you. But me, not so.. Now mind you this is the center piece to the studio, and having to ship it to them to fix my studio will be down!! Note to self, dont buy shitty gear!! It only took 2 months to get here, how long you think I will have to wait for them to send back??? meanwhile im out of work, last time I put my trust in this company!!!!!!

Hey Garro, we're testing the same mod on the Convert-2 right now. Seems like to should work, but we're still testing it. I only have heard of two other Convert-2s with the issue. Make sure you send us an email, so we can contact you when the testing is done with the Convert-2.

I find this great but at the same time sad. What they actually should do is to fix the problem by default for the price they are asking and send again a new device to their clents ! Again is good they fixed it but...its just meeehh. And Dave, your channel is number 1 as always🔥

I'm pretty sure new units comes with this on, I actually can only say good things about them, they sent me 2 units, then they were ON IT and found a solution, shit happens, it's hard to foresee every possible scenario when building a unit like this, I think they handled this in a great way and it gives me confidence in the brand, I know my ass will be covered no matter what in the future.

Chrs V from Dangerous here. The problem is specific to certain setups. You can see this if you have a way to measure you voltage when you first fire up your gear. You might see the voltage dip down when everything is powering on. For some users, it was dipping to low for the AD+. The fix that has the unit auto reboot should this happen, will be automatically installed in new AD+ units. Feel free to give me a call at the main number sometime and I am happy to clarify it to you.

I wonder if this issue is global. Given the explanation of the RCA and the nature of the Mod, the issue may well be an edge case, only manifest in areas where power distribution is uneven (from the grid). But great that there’s a fix for it.

Two issues. I just received my mod and it didn’t work. The you tube site they wanted me to go to also didn’t exist @dangerousmusic y’all dropped the ball. I appreciate you Though for having a video on how to at least install this

I’ve messaged dangerous to try and get a fix for my ad + and they will not respond . I’ve purchased a 2 bus + recently too and now I’m going to return it . Hey Dave, big fan of your work and Mixbus Tv! I have a quick question: Do you route your AD+ back into your computer via the USB on the back of the unit? I know on your old SSL converters you went in via ADAT. Is that still your preference? Does one render a better quality over the other? Thank you so much for all that you do! I've found your tutorials to be immeasurably helpful. 🙏

Thank you! It goes back adat, and it doesn't matter what digital port you use, once it's digital, it's digital, doesn't matter, AES, Adat, USB etc..

They sent it to me, also to make the public aware, so I didn't even have to contact them, and I'm pretty sure new units will be shipped with this on but yes, if you own an ad+ I'm pretty sure that's it

Mine came with the boot mod pre-installed but still freezes up - now it won’t boot at all anymore… Anybody know where I can get it repaired outside of Dangerous? They aren’t responding and I can’t even sell this unit… Total loss 😢

Most transparent, that means not only across the frequency spectrum but detail, stereo field and everything else, plus, it handles clipping better than any other. THIS is what I want from a mastering converter, not bells and whistles, outboard is for that

if you're in the box and you don't use outboard (even less if you don't record anything and you are sample/vsti based) your converters have little to no impact, it doesn't really matter, what matters is the headphone amp and the DA stage, but the fact that you mix on hp doesn't change what you should get which is the best you can afford. MOTU headphone amps are amazing even on the small interfaces. Your problem of course is the you're mixing on headphones only

I had to do something similar with a brand new FX unit that cost 2x as much as this A/D unit!!!! It arrived with a rattle 😂.
