Enjoy watching your videos, now retired after 51 years in the trades but miss doing this type of work, i was an advance craft city and guilds plumber and also had level 3in bricklaying and worked in a team with other trades doing this type of work so picked bits of other trades as well really enjoyed it

Use an offcut of the fascia, lay it over the fascia to be pinned, mark a pair of pin spacings on the board and transfer to the offcut. Just nick the edge of the offcut at the required marks with a knife and you have a jig for all subsequent fascia jobs as well as this one. Gable knee for the tile corbels.

For the stop tap, consider fitting a sure stop this way, you can have it in a convenient location. Personally, i always make sure there is a proper working traditional brass stop tap but like to then fit a surestop to allow more convenient isolation, especially for elderly clients.

Nice finish to fascia’s, but you didn’t mention putting expansion gaps where there’s joints and corners. Shouldn’t adhesive only be applied to one side of a joint and a small expansion gap left the other side ?
@Mr_A_Builders2 ай бұрын
It all came down to the edit Michael and I thought I could cut that bit out. People already say I talk too much so I didn’t want to fuel the fire so to speak. You are correct a gap should be left and only put glue on one side. I generally look at the side that’s seen the most to add the adhesive to. Thanks for the comment Michael.

Were paint blisters on a soffit board, It's a sure sign it is asbestos, the blistering is due to the alkaline nature of the asbestos cement substrate.

HI, what blade are you using to cut the pvc with the angle grinder? Standard 1mm abrasive? Or anything fancy? Thanks.

Hello Richie, slightly off topic I know but can you recommend a decent fast setting wood glue - tackling squeaky staircase at home next week - am able to access the underside of the stairs so planning to fit some timbers between risers and treads - screwed and glued, regards Nick
@Mr_A_Builders2 ай бұрын
Hi Nick I’d recommend a D4 foaming wood glue which you can get in a tube as well. However we use illbruck foaming glue for a foam gun. Take a look at their site www.illbruck.com/en-gb/products-systems/product-overviews/foams/ 👍🏻

Flat downlights You can get 35mm deep downlights that are 7w and require a 75mm hole.

Great job, I wouldn't get in the habit of pre nailing the pins tho because if your on a big site alot of the time the scaffolding can get in the way of driving them home 😅

How old is the house, that 'utility' room looks very much like it was a coal hole originally!? When I started in the electrical trade in the 1970's extensions like that were our bread and butter jobs! Over the years it became apparent that during the hard times people had extensions and when things were better people moved house, I don't know if it's still like that now!?
@Mr_A_Builders2 ай бұрын
Hi Sarge. We believe that the utility was and old coal house and outside toilet. Thanks for commenting mate. 👍🏻

Hey Adam. Just wondering because I haven't seen a video about it. How'd the retaining wall that needed to be redone in the garden that was at the bottom of the hill get resolved? You mentioned you realized the mistake you had made due to the amount of water/moisture the area receives.
@Mr_A_Builders2 ай бұрын
Hi this is Rich not Adam. There was a part two to that did you see it?
@aethermech45852 ай бұрын
@@Mr_A_Builders Yup, re-watched to make sure I didn't miss anything and found the part that caused my confusion. Adam mentioned going back during a hot dry week during the summer and redoing what he could with the wall, but I missed the part where he said he was going to do it quick'ish without trying to interrupt the other work you guys were doing. I imagine that he got that wrapped up asap and didn't do any recording, which is only proper running a business and all. I was just hoping to get to see some of the fiddly bits and how he solved some of the issues. Love watching the channel, you guys are true craftsmen. Keep up the great work
