A fun watch, very nice. A little aside: on StandardClip, the clipping in any mode is always hard clipping by default (as one can see on the knee diagram), until the soft clip slider is enabled. At that point we get soft clipping, whos characteristics depend on the mode selected

I love master plan but my approach is to use it on my mix bus to finish the mix, then the master became so easy. Great plugin and as always, excellent video man, thanks !

Nice work. Cool track too. Do you know when we can expect it to drop?

Useful tips here. That Masterplan plugin is nice design, I like the way the colour changes on the knobs and buttons - kind of tells you that time is passing so you know how long you have spent with it. If it is back to the colour you started on maybe time to take a break.

Great video. Master Plan is a game changing plugin that I think is a bit underrated. I have been using it on all my masters and it just takes all the heavy lifting. I rarely use additional plugins. That Multi button you skipped is the real secret sauce trust me. If the low, mid or high end of the mix is too prominent compared to your reference, just pull up the appropriate fader and bam!!! Problem solved!

I’d love a mixing for loudness too! Great vid! Has helped me refine some of the techniques I’ve been using. I’ve been too heavy handed 😂

Have you checked out gold clip? If so what are your thoughts on it

Here's a tip. Put a clipper + transparent limiter on the mid channel only to deal with kick and snare, and then go to the master plan in stereo. More puch, less distortion in the final result.

Mid channel as in the mix buss? Or the mids in mid/side defends?
@bakerlefdaoui6801

@@junovue As in the mid channel in mid side processing. In part 1 video, he explains how he splits the signal in pro tools in seperate channels, mid and side and then sum them back in a bus. Therefore the mid is processed differently than the sides, and the sum is processed as the stereo bus.

would be great if you had an oscilloscope and metering up throughout the process to help visualise the effects of each stage. psyscope and insight are great plugins.

I was apprehensive when I first heard about the master plan, fearing it might be just another cheap all-in-one plugin. The design certainly didn't inspire confidence. Instead, I opted for the gold clip, I'll give this plugin a chance.

Is it bad to master to the loudest without distortion? I typically try to just push it without obvious clipping etc. Or does that also make us lose dynamics too?

Engineers seem to make mixing so difficult and tedious. So much information. How can we, that could not afford to go to FullSail or Berkley, mix music on our own? I’ve been mixing for years and I STILL don’t know all of these complicated terms… I just know THIS: never any peaking signals. A/B your song against your favorite song. Get your music to sound as close to them as possible. Period.
