The art of the French omelette 🍳👏 This classic French dish only requires three ingredients (eggs, salt and butter) and some finesse to make an extraordinary and delicious breakfast. It is perhaps one of my favorite recipes that I’ve learned to make in culinary school and one that I make very often. Whenever I make this for someone (especially my mom who absolutely LOVES it) they can not believe there is no added cream in this silky omelette. They key 🔑 is cooking on low heat and using the proper technique. Here are some key tips: ⭐️ A nonstick pan is a MUST!! I can’t tell you how many ruin omelettes happened due to not using a nonstick pan . ⭐️ Keep the heat on LOW! The eggs will go from beautiful and silky to over cooked in no time. Keeping the heat low allows you to better control it and gives you more wiggle room, especially for beginners. ⭐️ Use a nonstick silicone SPATULA! This will allow you to best manipulate the eggs in the pan. It helps form the soft curds, gently scrap the bottom of the nonstick pan and then roll the omelette in the end. ⭐️ Keep the fillings LIGHT! A key characteristic of a French omelette is how simple and delicate it is. Adding a ton of fillings will make it difficult to stay together. Stick to herbs or a soft cheese. Save the mushrooms, peppers, etc for an American style omelette. Now, time to get cracking 🥚

pro tip: drop the extra butter in the warm pan behind the half-rolled portion of the omelette to coat it as you roll it up, and skip the step where you baste it. Bonus: use browned butter for aroma boost: a little dab will do ya.

Just tried twice. Once pan was too hot and once pan didn’t quite get up to temp. Almost there but both were delicious. For the second try the slightly undercooked eggs formed a buttery almost cheesy sauce. As someone who typically doesn’t like scrambled because I love a runny yolk this is a win!
@M3T4F1S1K4Ай бұрын
If you scramble the eggs on medium-low, you can attain runy, not at all dry, scrambled eggs :) they take a bit longer to cook, but they turn out very very good.
@nicholascrow81334 ай бұрын
It's a lot easier with the advent of commercial non stick pans. Back when I was in trade school we learned this with stainless steel pans. The window of temp control is much smaller as you need the pan hot enough so the omelette won't stick (factoring in for the loss of heat as you cook it out) but still cool enough to not get any colour.
@arielniv86513 ай бұрын

I love eggs, but I'm skeeved out if the whites are undercooked. it's perfect if the yolk is runny, but I HATE runny whites 🤢 it's a shame because I actually do enjoy the taste and texture of soft scrambled eggs (even though I bashed them for like 20 years of my life before trying good ones), but I'm simultaneously nervous and a little grossed out while I eat them so I don't make them.
