Love going this build on Merlin lately even though it's meta it's just so fun. The new thing apparently is Ethereal so I've been going same exact build but E staff last item, so basically full proc item build, just drop an arcane 1 in the middle of a team, chunks half of their health bar and gives you easy top dmg lmao.

As someone who started playing Merlin recently I also noticed that purple is kinda meh. I think it’s more worth to switch between fire and ice stance. Purple might be good in team fights.

Now do it again but with poke mage disco. Pendulum of ages, chronos pendent, tablet, soul gem, soul reaver, divine/shard/thoth. Get them procs. Discordia 1 is the best item proccing poke in the game and with full cdr is super spammable

I still don't like tablet on any of the mages I play. It just feels clunky to stack both with enemies either harassing mid to the point that poking is really risky or teammates randomly stealing wave because they aren't used to their mage trying to stack later than usual for Book of Thoth. Yes this is a "skill" issue. The problem is the skill is not on my end to control. I can't do anything about my team taking my stacks if they won't listen to me, so I find is a much safer bet to just skip the tablet and just stack thoth. Basically Tablet is better the higher up you play because your team will be smart enough to play around you and you them. If and when I reach that level I will start building tablet again
