I bought the cheapest 2015 range rover vogue l405 in the country. It was cheap for a reason as it had been in a pretty bad accident, leaving the car crash damaged. I decided to buy it to rebuild. Along the way instead of repairing and fixing the old parts ive decided to upgrade the car to an SVO body kit along with facelifting the range rover to look like the 2018 version. But as always i stumble along mechanical and electrical faults on the journey.

I fitted those steering buttons to my sport, on the back there is a bridging pin that you can remove to give second settings, might work. Fitting genuine is outrageously expensive.👍

I love being right referring to the wheel 360 out. Easily done. The tight spot is it's not long enough to go that far and pulls itself in the casing luckily it didn't tear. I'm available most of time should you ever need a X BMW range rover specialist.

Can I ask a question? I had the usual suspect, the three snapped bolts in the power steering electric motor! I’ve drilled the bolts out and remounted the electric motor with zinc replacements and I think the belt might be ok? Fine teeth so not sure, my problem is on full lock the motor keeps moving and jumps the teeth with a screeching sound so the car doesn’t know where it’s end points are? So my question is does it need plugging in to be reset or is there a easy peazy reset procedure without a computer? If not will a snap-on diagnostic tool do? Thanks in advance if you can help 🤞🏼
@fattyshtc
@fattyshtc 2 жыл бұрын
@@Amac-uz9hm have you looked to see it's not going past lock. There's nylon stops on the wishbones on some models and it's causing the car to go beyond lock when they're missing. Was there any play in the shaft. Once a motor has slipped the teeth need replacing as they become rounded.
@Amac-uz9hm
@Amac-uz9hm 2 жыл бұрын
@@fattyshtc thanks for the reply, no there is no setup for nylon stops, it’s getting to the end of travel and the motor for assist continues to spin as I could see the pulley spinning as I have removed the blanking plug to see what was happening, does it need programming once it’s fitted with a new rack? And at the moment I don’t want to spend £50 on a new belt and it takes the teeth of because it does needs to know when to stop (programming)
@fattyshtc
@fattyshtc 2 жыл бұрын
@@Amac-uz9hm they can be calibrated and land rovers require most things to be calibrated. They learn by driving above 20 and going lock to lock. Not a easy thing to do. Sometimes easier just to have calibrated.

Dunno if this has been mentioned, the only downside to removing the exhaust tips bend is in deep water. With the U-bend down it can help prevent water following up the pipes, if your not planning to go swimming its not a problem! Love your work!
