After reading some of the comments, I think everyone knows that most people at the top of their craft are eccentric people. Much of the time, it takes an out-of-the-ordinary personality to become exceptional at something that is so physically and mentally demanding. I say that because if people can get past personality, they can appreciate what we watch when Gordon competes. I think Josh has won 2022 and 2023 ADCC Asian trials now and only had one match that didn't end in submission. Not sure yet where he stands (we have to see him against the other trail winners on Aug 16th) but he's definitely not a push-over. Even if Gordon eventually fails to deal with another competitor's athleticism (or less-likely their mind), it's hard to deny that he has one of the sharpest intellects for Jiu Jitsu. It's a pleasure to watch and learn.
@hwago1234 ай бұрын
He’s learned from Danaher, who IS the sharpest mind in BJJ. He grew up with him basically, so a lot of the credit goes to John

Gorgon is the BJJ goat 100%. And is intellectually unmatched. He is also smart enough to know that he needs help to be the best in this sport, no man is an island especially when it comes to sports, and has picked Dan to be that person which means his ego is intact.

GR has earned the respect. He talks a ton of shit but is so technical and so controlled that he allows his opponents plenty of time to tap and avoid injury. Say what you will about the guy but he could have literally ruined soooo many peoples career but is a true sportsman. For this reason I am finally starting to be a fan.
