Ya, Im pretty sure Rob and their drummer write all the songs, lyrics and melodies. Im mainly into punk rock and heavy metal but I'm a huge matchbox 20 and 3 doors down fan and my friends all bust my balls about it. The first time I ever saw 3 Doors Down was when they had Cold open for them. Cold is a hard/goth rock band. Neither band is groundbreaking or rewriting rock n roll, but both bands consistently put out great songs do not seem like they were "forced" out of the writer or musician, unlike someone else we know who's last 3 albums sound entirely forced, unnatural and have no soul. I wont mention his name. *coughs* kid rock *coughs* Yes, I liked his first 4 major label releases. Im also from Detroit and good friends with his first drummer, so Im not as judgemental towards him as people from other states on the east and west coast are.

I’m a Purdue grad, and Rob Thomas was salt of the earth when they did a free concert (they had just gotten famous over the summer..1997)…and a bunch of kids stormed the stage. Sure enough, Rob yelled out “leave the kids alone!!”. I’m so sad. They’re in my hometown tonight, and I’m not there!
