Briar Works pipe shop is my home away from home in Columbia Tn. They are absolutely a first class pipe shop. They are having their first pipe show at the end of August 2019 you can get all the info from their website. Thanks for the review I’ve seen it on their shelf before but never had any desire to buy any. NOTE !!! They also have a great selection of pipe tobacco. lol

A little late viewing this, but better late than never. This was hysterical! Your facial expressions were priceless. I received a sample of their Sweet Tea blend and it wasn't bad at all. You would think something called bacon would at least have some sort of smoky quality to it. I'm glad you posted this. I thought I was overreacting, when I passed judgement on this stuff. I got a sample of it, at the New York Pipe Show. I was excited to try is, but I couldn't even get halfway through the first bowl. I didn't like it at all. I feel bad for my father, because he bought a whole jar of it. I would love to suggest that this could be improved somehow, but you have the underlying bourbon and citrus which you can't erase unless you added maybe a Lakeland...but I'm guessing you'd end up with something that tastes like dirty sox covered with laundry detergent.

Hi John: Sounds like one to avoid. The worst bacon experience I ever had (and I too love the stuff) was in Dublin, Ireland in 1985 when I ordered bacon and eggs in a local café and the bacon was lowered raw into hot oil and deep fried like French fries but instead of coming out crispy it came out of the oil just hot, raw, and really greasy. I wrote it off to experience and took refuge in Peterson's pipe shop which made the whole trip worthwhile. Anyway, use that Mason jar to age something worthwhile like maybe some nice big and burley or haunted bookshop. Regards, Doug Owen.

At least you didn't pay for yours! I love bacon and bourbon, especially in an Old Fashioned so I figured how could this not be great? I think that piece of dark fired Kentucky on top is supposed to meld with the other tobaccos over time and I guess represent bacon. Putting the word bacon on the name without even a hint of bacon aroma in it ensures most people will be disappointed. All I got from this was orange. I'm going to come back to it next year in hopes that the "bacon strip" improves it over time. If not, maybe I will mix some bacon bits into a bowl of this stuff! :)

Greetings John, I think that's a piece of dry bacon they put in for flavor. The Citrus flavor sounds like it's mostly burley, surprised it does not agree with you a burley lover. Now go fill your favorite Savinely with some Haunted Bookshop and leave the rest of that stuff for the bear.

I actually like the first half tin, then I started to like it less. That big leaf is supposed to be like a "pig's ear" or pig cracklin snack.
