Yumm! - A lot of us were waiting for this juicy stuff Dave. Love the way you sped-up the playback! So annoying when this tech-talk is just chock-full of well.. um.. a.. and.. buts.. Sounds to me like you've got every word just right. Of course its too fast to follow along! That's why they invented "pause" and play! Can't wait to clear off the kitchen table as the XYL gives me that familiar hairy-eyeball! Its OK.. I'll just say you did it in 12 minutes and 19 seconds.. I'm trying to beat his record! hihi - BTW - tack on another $15 if you want F405! (RDQ discounts US HD vets!)

small board.. hm.. can i ...somehow... use it for brushed motors / small planes? or brushless + esc only?
@DaveMerc5 жыл бұрын
There are no ESC's on the F411 so I would think that brushed ESC's could be used. The timing in the configuration may have to be adjusted.

what is the difference between from this flight controller and a regular receiver? thanks
@DaveMerc4 жыл бұрын
Wow! What a question. That would be another video entirely. They are not even the same. You might find an FC that comes with a receiver but usually they are separate devices. RC has to have a receiver but not a FC.

First....:)....Thanks for the EZ RSSI calibration Dave....I always use Link Quality though....did you..?...I assume it works just the same..? Did you speed your speech up...?....I was nearly out of breath listening....lol.... Im trying out the F405 Wing and noticed no less than 5 different hex files....?....whats that all about? Oh, and the PPM input for the EZ was very useful too.....Thanks.
@DaveMerc6 жыл бұрын
You can use RSSI instead LQ now because of this Min Max CLI feature with the EZUHF. I have not made up my mind which to use. I was using LQ but now I might go back to RSSI now that iNav can handle the inverted signal. I wish they would put it in the OSD config tab so I didn't have to go in the CLI. No I did not speed up my voice, just talked quickly.

Oh, okay I may try RSSI then....Oh and heads up, there are now 3 different sizes of text for the "Vision" font provided by Oliver C....The original is rather large if you are using a high res Monitor...Nice font. Here:....kzbin.info/www/bejne/l162doaaqpKkh68

Another great video! I'm getting a "failed to open serial port" when I try to connect. Same message as is I had nothing connected. How can I successfully update USB and flash the firmware but it won't connect? Seems odd. I feel like I've missed a step.
@DaveMerc5 жыл бұрын
Try running Zdiag like in video. And don't use connect when flashing. Push botton on board when connecting USB for flashing

GPS hooks to RX->TX and TX->RX (not SDA and SLC b/c they are for compass).

Dave, my EzUHF 4ch rx is set for RSSI ch8, however it doesn't come through on the iNAV conf, All other channels work as they should. Is there a specific setup in the Taranis or a CLI comd required?

Nothing in the Taranis or a CLI. Do you have channel 8 selected on the iNav Receiver Tab?

Dave thanks for the video How does the motor thrust differential work?
@RetiredTimeProductions6 жыл бұрын
It works off the rudder stick to increase yaw on a twin prop plane by differing the motor speed between the two motors. It will also cause some roll just like a rudder will do.
@hansleatherby10326 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave I have programmed diff thrust into my TX but I guess this is not needed since INAV does all the mixing How do you vary the value of the rudder/throttle mix?
@DaveMerc6 жыл бұрын
I think there are values on the bottom of the iNav Mix Tab that you can adjust.
@richardwilabee59986 жыл бұрын
Dave can you turn off the diff thrust using a switch on the transmitter. Did you have any issues when flying with the diff thrust.
@RetiredTimeProductions6 жыл бұрын
That the bad news. iNav mixes are not conditional so differential thrust can't be turned off. Just don't touch the rudder if you don't want it.

'm just wondering if you have any ideas on my motors not starting. I guess I don't know how to arm them. I have two motors on my airplane and they both test fine in the motors screen when you move the sliders. My throttle shows fine in the receiver screen. I added two commands in to CLI that I found on line but that didn't help either. nav_extra_arming_safety = OFF set fixed_wing_auto_arm = ON it says this will Auto arm the motors as you bring up the throttle. Any Suggestions? Thanks

Hi Dave, well that was a switch. It was way to fast to absorb that kind of info. But since I know your video style pretty well, i just slowed the playback down to 3/4 speed and the normal Dave was back (if just a bit too slow). Is there some KZbin reason why you needed to speed it up versus what would have been a 16-18 minute video at normal speed? I don’t produce videos, so I don’t know, but I was just curious. I think you should do some follow up videos. I still refer to your EZUHF setup video’s for example, from several years ago, so some more Inav stuff would really be great!

I’m giving up on inav. I have this board and Finally! Got it working but man it horrible gyro floating all over the place and it over corrects everything. I’m officially done with inav and flashing all my F4 and F7 ect... boards over to Arduplane. Inav has still got a ways to go imo. 2.0.0 is ok but still not worth my time
@DaveMerc6 жыл бұрын
Have you tried the Apm mini 3.1
@Freebird_676 жыл бұрын
Dave Merc Productions no I haven’t but probably will. I have a bunch of standard pixhawks and amp boards but they are to big for most my setups. Now though we can flash these F4 boards over to Arduplane is huge!! Especially with built-in OSD and current sensors on these F4 boards. With a standard pixhawk or Apm I’d have to add those components which is more space and more weight.
@Freebird_676 жыл бұрын
Dave Merc Productions I wouldn’t use a Standard pixhawk or Apm when I can easily flash a F4 board with its built in osd and current sensor. With standard pixhawk or Apm those are add ons which take up way to much room

Works great for me. Zadig bugs seem to have been corrected a few years ago. Are you sure it is still a problem? If so I would like to hear about any recent problems that have been reported.
@bobbyd95836 жыл бұрын
people have inadvertently killed the drivers for keyboards, mice and other usb interfaces. Obviously nothing permanent, but the one click simple option is obviously the way to go. Not everyone is as skilled as we are when it comes to software for drivers. Just last month a friend of mine tried flashing a new firmware version onto his F3 FC for a beecore, this resulted in him not having a usable keyboard on his laptop until I was able to plug in another one and uninstall/reinstall keyboard drivers. I think it falls on us to promote an option less likely to cause "any" damage to an end users system if we are suggesting a software to use. the ImpulseRC Driver Fixer provides this security blanket for us, unless you want to provide a disclaimer that is. Anyways keep the comment coming!
@DaveMerc6 жыл бұрын
As you might have noticed it's Github iNav that recommends Zadig in their flashing instructions not me: inav/docs/USB Flashing github.com/iNavFlight/inav/blob/master/docs/USB%20Flashing.md I think perhaps Github is where the disclaimer should go if it is really a problem but I will put a note under my video.
