I think the word to use here is 'bittersweet.' That fits every single part of this show, eventually. It might be upliftingly joyous or crushingly sad, but there's always a tinge of regret in the first and hope in the second, even if they come much later on. Always.

The context of the first one is Greg (the father) hurt his leg when Steven and the gems were on a mission. And they're mostly just giving and Steven is helping his dad. Though it turns out Greg could walk just fine and didn't need that much help. at least that's what I remember

He didn't fake the broken leg, he did have one and when Steven healed him, he faked that it didn't work so that he could spend more time with Steven and this caused Steven to not be able to use his powers because his power is linked to his feelings and Greg made Steven doubt his capability which made him unable to control his powers

So, now that we're in the topic of cartoons I have an urge to introduce to My Little Pony songs, but idk which ones because there are so many good ones. -This Day Aria (season 2) -Morning in Ponyville (season 3) -Hearts Strong as Horses (season 3) -Babs Seed (season 3) -At The Gala (season 1) -The Pony I Want To Be (season 5) -You're In My Head Like A Catchy Song (season 7) These are just some that come to mind, they're really fun tbh Also especially in the earlier seasons they have this theatrical feel that I love, but it's never completely lost either. There's also a Christmas album called A Pony Kind Of Christmas which is basically covers of Christmas songs like Jingle Bells (that one's my favorite). Just an idea for a December Special. And now that we're in the topic of Christmas, maybe listen to Say Goodbye to The Holiday, it also has a theatrical feel and I think it's from season 8. Wow I really went on a rant here. Eh, it's a show that I love so it doesn't surprise me lol
