I only ended up getting cos it was getting overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam. So I started playing it. Now it's my favourite game of all time and I am planning on getting a new PC just because I saw Subnautica 2 is coming out.

True. The only downside i would say is that its possable to softlock your progression if the player misses 1 of the games few key items. Its very hard to miss this item but its still possable and it can only be found in 1 location so if the player leaves that area without picking it up or scanning it unless they are told that they missed it they would never know.

I actually found myself getting motion sick while trying to play with a controller 😅 So if you think it would be easier, and if you’re up for it, you could always try it out on pc and, if you make a series out of the game (which I beg to God that you do!🙏), play it like that going forward! You would just have to replay the beginning bit of course, but once you know what you’re doing, it’s a lot quicker to progress 😁

Literally one of my favourite games other than fromsoft games, the story goes deeper than you think (pun intended) and the world is so amazingly detailed, i loved reading about all the different flora and sea life and i have crazy bad adhd, so i usually struggle to read things like that haha.

If there could be only one game I could forget and play for the first time again, Subnautica would be it. There are so very few games like it; exploration in the purest form, diving deeper, conquering your fear to pursue knowledge and to keep on surviving. My own Thalassophobia isn't so bad (there is only one place I will not go, even after a dozen of play-throughs) and I've seen guys with much, much worse cases manage to get to the end, so I hope you will find the strength to do so too. It does get easier, as you go and it is worth it, I guarantee. There is so much wonderful, frightening, mysterious and just bizarre waiting for you under those seas. This genuinely is one of the best sci fi and survival games ever made. Great survival mechanics, that can push you when unprepared and rewards preparation. but rewards risk taking in equal measure. Steallar story, well told and engaging. Good pacing, provided you do explore and keep your eyes peeled. The graphics are fantastic, not like ultra realistic, but the perfect blend of cartoony real and pretty to keep it nice to look at even after so many years. The building in the game is good as well, many folks will play it just to build bases in pretty locations. You seemed to enjoy the story so far, so i highly recommend you play the game, if only for yourself. Be for-warned. you have yet to see or experience anything scary yet. The deep locals in this game and even some of the more mid level ones get creepy as F.

Scan scan and read read read. Some data they provided are not so useful but you’ll find some diamonds in the rough in all those pages. It’s my favorite game and still fun when I replay it several times. Love to watch people’s first impression too! Keep playing and you’ll love it as much as I do.

It's another genre dressed as a survival game. The games atmosphere and sound design put in huge work for the game, there is a story or uncover but the game doesn't go out of its way to point it out, you have to read the logs you find at wrecks. This game is a cult classic, it's spin off below zero is okay it's more tightly packed and smaller than this game more focused on the story elements of the game but in doing so it loses sight of what made this game so great. I would definitely suggest playing more of this game. A lot of us who have played the game know what's coming, so we relive it vicariously through others with their first playthrough, if it's a blind playthrough all the better.
