MatPat was literally the first KZbinr I ever watched, and I've stuck with him for the past however long. Yet I'm not sad that he's "leaving", because he's not actually leaving, he's just going behind the scenes and working on his life. The man has a family that he has put on the back burner for the past 10 years.... Yes they might have been supportive but that kind of stuff takes a toll on relationships. I'm happy the theory brand isn't dieing and I have hope for the new hosts..... Besides, maybe the quality will go up now that the new hosts are only working on one channel per person. I love MatPat but we all knew he couldn't stay forever.

I’m 25 and I’ve been watching for the better part of a decade. I don’t want MattPat to leave because he’s my childhood and when he leaves, it means my childhood is really truly over. I really appreciate how he's having newer hosts take the reins, who have been working for him for years, slowly easing them up for the job so they know how to continue the channel successfully with ease without him, so it's not that overwhelming or stressful. That's how it should be done. Make sure they are prepared and slowly let go until they are ready. Instead of just shutting the channel down or randomly leaving and choosing some random new host last minute, like other channels in the past have done, he puts a lot of thought and care into the channel to make sure it doesn't go crashing down in popularity the moment he leaves while the others have to deal with it. It shows that he genuinely cares about his fans and employees alike. Having the new hosts full time will feel weird, but considering the fact that they've been writers for these channels for year, are now narrating shorts or small parts of the longer videos, I think the content is still going to be pretty great. It'll be weird at first, but we'll get used to it, and I have a lot of hope that they'll do well either way.
