What makes Botan is smart is that she had broad knowledges. Even though she dont know something, at least she will not say something about it. She was very clever. Holomen who near to her spec is actually Lui indeed. But with Botan skills at game and deep knowledge about pc specs makes her more shine in this community. Lui though, excel at cooking and good at english. Which Botan can't surpass her in that matter I think. Both are smart, clever and independent beautiful woman. Thats for sure.

Speaking of Botan's image, I love how from the start her whole image has been based around being a tactical, ruthless predator in games and weapons, but when you actually watch her streams she's a goofball who seems to find joy in everything

What's also amusing is her streaming hashtag ぐうたらいぶ (guutaraibu). The "raibu" part is fairly straightforward since it's just the English word "live (broadcast, show, etc.)" that was borrowed into Japanese at some point. However, there's also the "guuta" part. There is no Japanese word "guuta". But there is ぐうたら (guutara), and in English it roughly translates to "slacker, lazy person, idler". Miko, Aqua, Roboco, and Gura fall under the "Extremely Hi-spec but scatter-brain" category. It's obvious they're kinda dumb, they act dumb and do dumb things, but when push comes to shove they are the most capable in critical thinking. Hell, Aqua and Miko do really dumb stuff in minecraft but you can't be a minecraft engineering god by being purely stupid lol. Also, Chloe and Haachama are the scariest versions of 'acting' dumb. Every part of them being dumb is calculated and critically evaluated. They can be incredibly smart and manipulative; however they spend to much time acting stupid they end up having genuinely dumb and honest moments.

Carlontes Vito I don't know about chloe but hachama is way smarter than you think. One example of her using her full brain capacity is when her face accidentally got revealed from a reflection (portion of her face) in a robot assembling stream. Instead of asking about her viewers not to clip it, she just stop the stream and deleted it. Then she resumed on assembling the robot and intentionally showed her reflection again but this time she's wearing a monkey head dress. So instead of her face revelation, her fake "face revelation" got more attention. All of the evidence of her face revealed got buried by the sheer amount of her monkey face revelation. That's big brain move.

"Matsuri is smart in a roundabout way" - she's a pretty out of the box and creative thinker (she has on multiple times admitted that she's not academically intelligent), with how she RTA'd Superliminal, her comedy style when not relying on Freudian slips are very deliberate and impeccably timed. She's not as naturally chaotic funny like Pekora/Miko, not as airheaded as Akiroze/Aqua, not as random and insane like Haato-chan/Nenechi, or as quick-witted as Lamy/Subaru but she has a knack for set pieces and setups which has payoffs, something I wish she does more.

To clarify a little bit about that comment she read, they said 一周回って which is an expression used to talk about when something is so extreme that it starts to seem the opposite way, almost as if the scale for measuring it has wrapped around in a circle. Like for example when a movie is "so bad it's good", you would say it's 一周回って面白い. So the commenter wasn't really saying that Matsuri is smart in an unconventional way, they were just roasting her by saying that she's so extremely dumb that she actually starts to seem smart. And her response was that she'd rather just be smart for real (much like a movie director would rather be told their movie is "good" than "so bad it's good").

It seems to me that most vtubers fall into the 'creative' and 'intuitive' category of intelligence. This is just my impression but I feel if you take all the talents across the big vtuber companies, you could probably count on both hands the number of people who are academically gifted. Besides Choco-sen's IQ tests, the many knowledge test streams held by Haneru and Tenkaiji also contribute to the "vtubers=academic failures" stereotype, but I cant think of anyone who is actually dumb. Not even those with countless clips showcasing their 'low iq' and ponkotsu moments (Aqua, Nene, Honhima, Furen, etc)

lmao copium I actually didn't see Mel as dumb, but it's because the clips of her are always just wacky, cute, nice, and willing. I think the reason I can't see how dumb she is is because she doesn't compete. When people compete, especially in gaming, you learn how smart they can be because they're figuring things out. With that said, I also can't believe Aqua being dumb. Her skills in gaming, especially Apex, tells me otherwise. I can't say how much gaming can translate to academics, but what I do know for sure, is that if she put even half or less amount of effort she does in Apex for academics, she could get 70s or higher easy. Or even all of that effort if that's not enough for you. Either way, academics are just memorization and problem solving, for the most part.

As far as I know, Haato has progressed the most academically, though I'd probably put Tenchou as the smartest. Speaking 3 languages fluently is no joke.

I highly doubt Haachama is the furthest academically. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have University degrees (especially the ones who worked for companies prior to vtubing), where I think Haachama is still in University.
