This is one of my all-time favourite songs and I think that Matt is the most incredible singer songwriter. At age 16, Matt Corby auditioned for the 5th season of Australian Idol in 2007 where he finished as runner-up! I'm in Texas, USA and I'm probably one of the few Americans that actually got to see Australian Idol, I always downloaded the episodes with Bit-Torrent at the time. I loved the show and I really liked Matt a lot, he was my favorite and what a talent. I'm really glad he's still around and in the business doing what he does best, thanks for posting this video Denny, a very pleasant surprise indeed!

The song is about, Matt hated himself at the time of writing this song as he had slept with his mate's girlfriend. Matt is a deeply religious guy, hence the references throughout the song. UPDATE: apparently Matt stated in an interview in 2018, that he is no longer religious. He is also a dad of a son now. Do yourself a favour and please listen to his 2018 album "Rainbow Valley"

If you're not top 10 or mainstream, you're not likely to hear artists like Matt, that's life. Thanx to youtube and similar sites we get a taste of real artists and experience real talent. Since you're an aussie, do you remember a 2hr music program from many years ago called nightmoves. The first hour was mainstream then the next hour was stuff you almost never heard anywhere else. Guess which hour was the most popular.

my favorite artist. After diving deep, I found that ''Brother" is about the guilt he feels from sleeping with his best friend's girlfriend. And he mentions in one of his interviews on KZbin that he actually feels even worse that the song ''Brother" did so well because he's profiting off of someone else's pain.

The original radio release of this track blew everyone away, then this unplugged version came out and Aussies were stunned. Years before he went on "The Voice". He didn't make it to the next round and thank the gods! Missing the prize (got talent/the voice competition etc) sometimes means even more!

Great reaction video (hi from Australia). Yes he’s an Aussie and has done some incredible tracks. Triple J is a radio station here and they do a segment called Like a Version once a week. It includes a track of their own and a cover. Check it out on KZbin, there’s so incredible music coming out of OZ and it’s an awesome way to hear some serious talent.
