There’s a Bob Dylan interview somewhere where he says (I quote from memory), “When I pass a bar and look in the window, I see these people talking and joking and just being themselves, and I know, if I go in then it will suddenly be a bar where Bob Dylan has just walked in and everything will be different, everything will be centred on what Dylan says or does”. That’s fame, and that’s loneliness as well.

They say fame is fleeting but it can be deadly, too. His partner, Ben Affleck, received praise for his acting and directing. And the same media attacked him when he had personal problems. Being famous opens a person's life to the envious, hungry hunters of shame.

Well said! Fame is definitely not for everyone. It takes a certain personality type to remain well-adjusted in spite of it. Most writers, who are generally introverts, would be horrified by the prospect of being thrust into the public eye and living under a microscope for the rest of their lives, even if people around them imagined this to be some kind of gift. Any producer worth their salt will tell you this. 🙄 #2341

The idea of escaping public attention on the job, because movie people just want to work, is only partially true. In many cases the crews are instructed not to speak to the talent, and sometimes not even look at them. It's for a good reason, but it certainly does not reflect a "normal" social environment. It can be trying for the crew people to make a special effort to avoid the talent so as not to be perceived as stepping over the line and distracting them. Arnold Schwarzenneger was an exception - he genuinely enjoyed being around crews and was friendly with everybody.

Khufu built a big pyramid. He also left behind the smallest statue of himself as opposed to the others of his group who were doing the same. That means: you do big things, but you stay humble. Keanu has it right. Ride the train with the people. That's real life. He knows heartache. The Planet put him in the Matrix movies for us. He is also an echo anagram of Khufu. Yes, it's all numerical. The Pyramids of Giza/Sphinx are a RIDDLE. Rubix Cube. 80's were the echo of Khufu's reign. Listen to the songs of 1986 and you will hear him singing. Yes, I claim Egypt. 👽✔️✔️

I would deal with Matt Damon's fame by sending him to Mars for real, without a script and no option to return, just to see what would _actually_ happen. That would finally give him a reason to be famous. I'd also like to send Tom Hanks on a one-way trip to a deserted island with a volleyball and nothing else, just to see what would _really_ happen. Would he survive for four years? No. Probably not even four minutes. But it would be worth watching, finally.

The world tries to tell you nonsense about yourself. But the Word of God says, "If any one thinks he is something, whereas he is nothing, he deceives himself." And also: "More and more, humble your pride. What awaits man is worms." Better the truth that hurts than falsehood that gratifies.
@djg5854 жыл бұрын
@Beeblebrox One It is the New Testament itself that states, "If any one thinks he is something, whereas he is nothing, he deceives himself." The point is that the only value we have is what God has given us, and we must never think that we merit our value on our own, or even think that what we do have is give for any kind of self-aggrandizement.
