I was an assistant in the early 80s in Boston and this guy called and asked me to let my boss know he'll be late for their meeting because his plane was still circling Logan. I asked how he was calling if he was still on the plane and he said from the phone on the plane. I excitedly said, "That is SO cool," and he totally lost his business persona and responded like an excited kid, "I know, right?!!"

OK. Don't cream yourself, Donald. I wasn't aware that the staff working off the cameras were child slave labor being paid 50c for every 12 hour daily shift. I usually donate to famine victims or Third World kids going blind because they can't afford $3 of penicillin. Now I'll give to those poor Hollywood filmmaking staff who have to get by on $2,000 per week, rather than the $20M per movie of the A-list stars.

I have loved Matt's movies since Good Will Hunting and I think it actually helps him to stay grounded when his 16 year old daughter tells him she doesn't like his movies. I remember some years ago when Pierce Brosnan was being interviewed on a talk show and he said that at home he definitely doesn't get treated like a movie star. In fact he said that his children think he is a "buffoon". I guess even some of the best actors need that reality check lol.

The '80s came through strongly in this film. The '80s was before I was an adult. The phones were interesting. What's scary is that I can remember when phones were like that, and I have watched the evolution from boxy-looking landlines, to the flip cell phones in the 2000's, to the sleeker models we use today. Something about seeing Matt Damon in an 80s car calling Ben Affleck on an 80s cell phone made me laugh.

I've dug so many of his movies, through the years. I had a low-level job on Behind The Candelabra... no disrespect, just an observation: His noggin is larger than average. Not Tony Robbins large, of course. [compare it to Seth's, for example.]
@MsWarriordiva Жыл бұрын
Seth is a lot thinner, too. They're both in proportion. So what??
@EdwoodCA Жыл бұрын
@@MsWarriordiva Sorry if I offended you with my observation of Matt Damon. Just calling like I saw it when he was about 5 feet from me, during that shoot. It stood out in my mind then, and it's what I see from time to time. He's a great actor and he's done some drastic weight changes for some of his roles that also affect the proportion. ie: Courage Under Fire he was super skinny. Again, my apologies for offending you.
@S.Pociecha Жыл бұрын
Thanks for confirming that, @EdwoodCA ! I was just asking about that a few threads up, and I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice. I must admit that even though I'm a New Yorker, Boston (Matt Damon's) home town does have a treasure I bow to to this day. I'm not ashamed to say that I was and will be for the rest of my life a fan of Larry Bird and his 1980s Celtics. I remember them. Bird, DJ, Ainge, McHale and Parrish. But Birds trash talk and delivering to help the Celtics win multiple championships is the kind of swag we New Yorkers are known for such as Babe Ruth calling his own home run, Reggie Jackson becoming Mr. October or our many singers, actors and comedians born here in New York. I still can not bring myself to kiss the ring of Big Papi and the Red Sox in the 2000s. But, Larry Legend is a God of God's. So, the same beautiful way Boston saluted Derek Jeter on his final game which happened in Boston, I salute Larry Bird. Oh and yes I will give a very very quick applause to the Red Sox for clapping Jeter off in his final game. Now... let's get back to the rivalry with Aaron Judge as our new captain. Let's Go Yankees (clap clap clap clap clap).

So I had my bro buy something cheap and bring his receipt to the pickup window. We did call people to tell them we're calling from the car. The '80s weren't all bad. Transformers, G.I. Joe, probably the best, and most diverse (both good and bad) era of music in modern times that hasn't really been topped and probably never will and similarly with the creativity in movies (why do you think so many shows now focus on the '80s?), the rise of arcades and the home consoles.
