Despite all of the comments complaining that certain brands weren’t used in the testing process, this is another of the many informative and well put together videos that you guys have produced. A good club fitter knows you can’t expect to try every major club manufacturer’s driver in a fitting session because fatigue will set in and will skew the results.

This fitting was so fun to watch. I'm a 4 handicapper/117-120 driver swing speed who just got fitted 2 months ago. I went into the fitting wanting to try the F9 but I found it slow and just couldn't get it to do anything for me like you found. I also tried the M5/6, Flash/Flash SBZ and F9. Then the fitter had me try the Ping G410Plus and I was blown away at how effortless and accurate it was. I feel like I can step on one and I know it's going to go where I want it. After testing all the drivers the M6 would've taken 2nd place for me but it wasn't even close compared to the G410Plus with a Project X EvenFlow Black 75 shaft. I never would've thought of gaming a Ping driver before my fitting but it was the clear winner in ball speed, distance, and most importantly dispersion. I was waiting for Matt to hand you the Ping 410Plus because I knew it was going to work for you because my fitting went very similar to how yours did. Great video. I think the F9 got the early season hype but the Ping 410Plus may be the true king of this years driver season!

Pure geniuses both of you ... so amazing to have followed your KZbin life from the beginning... is almost addictive ... learn a lot from it + great fun... brilliant. Away from that i'm gonna do my usual meddling in what I NOTICE ... and that's actually in your new swing (love Larry and his work) but i kinda feel that i gotta mention my "findings" = You seem to be hovering a bit with your upper body over the ball as in your hip is getting behind it at the top of your swing but the body is not there! Then on the down swing you reverse it... = kick your hips forward and try to get your body behind the ball... TOTAL RESPECT to all of you... Larry as well... but i'm guessing that IF you can get your left should 2-3 inches higher then the right one in your setup that your gonna stay more behind the ball through out the whole back swing to impact. BUT what do i know though ... simple half frozen Icelandic golfer :P Luv ya guys (just always speak my mind)...

Enjoyed the process very much once again! Great work guys! These were the major factors, in order, that dictated my fitting, both drivers and irons. 1. Total/swing weight (head+shaft) - reduces mishits and causes huge variations 2. Shaft torque - higher helps slower swing speed get more gear effect on mishits 3. Weights on the head - ball flights (high low left right spin numbers) 4. Shaft flex - affects mostly the feel along with the torque. Side notes: Couldn’t believe how much I had to force myself to open the face depending on the amount of offsets in irons.

john stone thanks for the reply. Really cool he took the time to check instead of just selling you their merchandise. Is that facility outdoor with trackman? Did they let you keep all the data from your session? So for so many questions

Steven Carrier no worries man. Ya he did. I did a full bag fitting. We tried multiple iron/shaft combos but in the end, he just adjusted the loft/lie on my current gamers and they were as good if not more consistent than other models we tried. Weird you found the F9 that much different from the m5. I was fitted and could not find a difference between the cobra and taylormade drivers. They looked similar, sounded similar and produced similar results for me. Mind you I have never had a driver I couldn't hit, and I am as far from sensitive as it gets in terms of change. The F9 is a fade machine for most people who have tried my driver. I don't think I have hit a single draw with it since I switched from my titleist d2 driver, which was a draw factory for me. Just shows how different everybody is in a fitting. I could have walked out with any club and put it into play, but the sound of the F9 and the price (299.99CAD) vs the taylormade at (349.99CAD) sold me on the cobra. The fitting guy at my club is all taylormade, so he wasn't thrilled that I ordered the cobra, but hey... those savings, I can go grab a nice steak dinner lol. Cheers boys, I will be down for an iron fitting soon.

Tremendous video - I love what you guys do. The questions people have about 'why didn't you try ___ driver' are not *necessarily* criticisms - or even statements that you did something wrong. But I think people (like me) assume you must have had a reason for not trying a particular line. It seems like the hottest current drivers are (in no order): Callaway, TM, Ping, Titleist, Cobra. And you did try 4 of the 5. So for me, as an example, I assume you did NOT think the fifth (Titleist line in this case) would work for Ian, so I am curious why. Again, not because I think you should have tried a Titleist. Just more curious what was it about Ian's swing and/or the club that made you think 'ah, no, not that one.'

Great video and a lot of fun with the switch to Ian being fitted. I have a question based on a driver fitting I had last week. Much to my surprise when the fitter measured the shaft it was a 1/4" longer than standard (no idea why, I thought I had ordered standard length) - I tend to lose the ball right. Rather than selling me a new driver or shaft, the fitter has suggested shortening the existing shaft by 1/2" (also upping the loft by 1 degree). Will this result in the shaft being or feeling stiffer than previously?

Brandon Jones this is basic fitting that should be offered to everyone but sadly it isn’t. As a qualified club maker and fitter I found that you don’t find many around that can do it all. Most fitters in these Micky mouse outlets are just salesman, unless they build the club then they can’t fit a player. Go and find a local club maker & fitter to you, they will find the driver you want 😊👍🏼.

Thanks for the advice! You are correct, it’s just about what they make the most off of instead of taking care of the customer! Since this post I’ve had three rounds with the Taylormade original one mini, and I must say I love it! Hitting 12-14 fairways a round and honestly am not back behind my buddies. Makes me think that all the drivers I’ve had were just way off. This is the first time in years I had confidence off the tee! Great Video Boys, quick question you sure it’s GNC your shopping at hmmm, maybe Bandit and I can fit Ian for a new putter in the future? Now that would be challenge to play Mr. Fraser. 😂👍 Matty you forgot to tell Ian Buy It would have been perfect otherwise.

Need to do one of these live with the viewers fitting you. Would have love to see it a little flatter. Maybe a different shaft to try and shift that strike location. Head spot on. Welcome to the ping club..

Great video. The Professor not being fit by the Professor. Great result and the “customer’ knowing what they wanted and were looking for. Longer, quicker and more consistent.

Any reason the TS line which now covers 4 different heads didn't get a look in?

Never seen Matty look so nervous =:o)...but combo looked a great result. Great to see a Diamana BF in the final mix. Defo want to see/hear how Ian plays with that combo. After a mince iron fitting 2 years ago, you guys are educating me to be better & more knowledgeable golfer. Thanks.
