So, these episodes were all released a year apart on October, so it's very appropriate that you start it at this time of year.😂 It also is important to note that, at the time the 1st was released, TFS had no idea if they were going to continue it. Basically, this is one of those "It only gets better the further we get into it" kind of deals.

So... The "Headshot" thing started waaaaay back during the days of Unreal Tournament, where there was a sound bite from the game's announcer proclaiming "HEADSHOT" after a sniper kill. People went further with it in the early days of KZbin with a guy who's name I have forgotten, but he was a total gym bro that loved gaming and would roid out after getting kills in Counterstrike screaming "BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!" Since it's KZbin, there is a chance that video is still out there somewhere.

It is time for PEAK abridged. This series was Takahata101(Abridged Nappa)'s baby and it shows how much he love he put into it 1:24 Yes, yes it was. Yes, Helsing looks AWESOME. Even to this day it's still damn worth to go back to and watch 6:14 Kind of. Originally this was Takahata101's project, not a TFS project but it became a TFS project after the first 4 or 5 episodes, I forget exactly. It's why Takahata101 takes center stage and other TFS members such as Lanipator or KaiserNekko only show up later or voice minor characters. 7:06 This right here is why Anderson is the best character in this damn show 7:33 This show is about an organization who somehow controls god damn Alucard of all monsters and uses him to kill other vampires and monsters.And then Nazis show up! 'Good' and 'Evil' in this show are a matter of perspective, really. It's more 'Different shades of increasingly darker gray'. Even the lighter gray characters are absolutely willing to do what needs to be done and not feel a bit guilty about it. I wouldn't call Alucard 'good', he's more walking violent chaos, but he does care for a very few people in a very messed up way. Also, Integra is the ONLY person he will listen to, and that's only sporadically. Make of that what you will.

So for the VAs, there are a lot of crossovers. Obviously you know Taka as Alucard (he did Dende, Nappa, all three forms of Cell, and Guru). There's also Megami33 who voices Ser Integra in this (she did Bulma) Lanipator is back as The Major. Kaiserneko (main editor and voice of Trunks as well as a few others) voices Pip in this series. HBi2K who voiced Nail and Dr. Briefs voices Alexander Anderson in this one. There are a handful of others. Also introducing Jessie (now Jesse) from Pokemon 'Bridged w/ 1KidsEntertainment to voice Seras. She was (and he still is) one of the most based members of the team for various reasons. One of the few who when he streams (though it's rare), he'll actively do his best to follow twitch chat and actually converse with his audience - whether they donate, subscribe, follow, whatever or not.

Takahata essentially made this show out of spite. Back when Hellsing Ultimate came out and was popular, some of its fans insisted that it was too much of a sacred cow to be turned into a comedy via abridging. Takahata took that as a challenge and gave was arguably one of the most beloved abridged series ever made.

Originally, Van Helsing is the foil to classic Dracula. In this show, Hellsing is a family and organization dedicated to fighting the supernatural. Alukard is a true vampire who serves Hellsing. Episode one of the abridged series is a bit rough, as it was early in their abridged career. Each episode come out yearly around halloween. So the quality increases sharply.

Taka, the guy who voiced Cell, Nappa, Guru, and a few others, is indeed Alucard. Corinne, who voiced Bulma, is now voicing Integra. KaiserNeko, who did Trunks and King Kai, plays Pip and Luke. Anthony, who did Mr Satan, plays The Dandy Man. Masako, who played Goku and Gohan, played the Doctor. Chris, who played Dr Gero, plays Maxwell. Lani, who did Vegeta, Krillin, and Piccolo, plays the Major. And of course, Chris Sabat, the actual voice actor for Vegeta and Piccolo from the actual, legit dbz and db super anime had an uncredited role for a long time. He played Van Helsing in a flashback. He had to hide his name for a while because Toei absolutely hated TFS and DBZA and he didnt wanna get in trouble with them. But it eventually came out that he quite enjoyed DBZA and popped into this series for a cameo.

originally this was on takahara101's channel. who is one of the main voice actors in DBZA and it was meant as a Halloween special using the team four-star experience and resources. later during KZbin copyright problem, the episodes where combined and brought over to the team four-star channel. Aliciaxdeath is watching this with Takahata101 and he shared a story about the premiere. It was at a con on Halloween and everyone knew they were doing another show and guessed one piece and they played into it. Esp Lany, who rounded up one piece cosplayers to fill seats. They started and all the one piece fans went bananas then cut to "a real fxxking vampire", an Alucard cosplayer stands up and does a victory pose. Everyone stayed, watched, and loved it. Even the fooled one piece fans had a good time after being expertly duped. HUA made media history and I will stand by that statement.

*Beat.* "...that was a lot to process." Oh, we're just getting started. Might want to get a helmet and a splash guard. Also, yeah, the animation holds up really well. Madhouse did a good job with this one. Short version of the plot, by the way: Hellsing is about Hellsing Organization, named after Abraham van Hellsing of Bram Stoker's Dracula. After defeating Dracula, they go on to fight terrorists, cultists, and various monsters and undead. Alucard is basically a monster who hunts other monsters. "Good" is very relative in this show, abridged or otherwise. Also, "Boom, Headshot!" is from Pure Pwnage, way back in 2004. I don't remember if it takes ten steps specifically to take Alucard out, but strong enough that regular anti-vampire tactics aren't nearly enough. I need to reread Dracula to see if there's specifics. Lastly, yes, Nick Landis plays the Major. Even better, Nick lead an accidental Nazi rally at a convention. I think they were trying to get audio of a crowd going "Sieg Heil! for one of the episodes, and things got a little too enthusiastic. 🤣

You also have to realize thiis show is an abriged version... basically they take the story, and it's visuals... and use that to create comedy with new voice work over almost if not the entire thing to make comedy. They used scnes from all over the anime, though mostly progressing from the beginning, and just cut their way through some amazing comedy, if you know the original's context it just gets funnier with every episode. Mostly this is not the story of the original, they just use context to make it happen, they even throw in new animation/stills/irl video to make commentary. In fact, Aliciaxdeath has one of the original creators commenting through her reaction ;)

This series kicked off after DBZ:A had been doing well for a while. They had been doing multiple conventions, and Team Four Star kept getting asked if they were doing a different abridged series at some point. It was heavily hinted at that One Piece would be their next project, hence the bait and switch of the opening. The first episode debuted around Halloween, and most of the 10 episodes were released around the same time of year, once per year. It took almost a full decade for the abridged series to finish...and it was still worth the wait.

I'm not gonna give any real spoilers for the show, but well to explain Alucard's immortality; Alucard was made immortal as a result of the willing ritual sacrfice of his own followers, where he was then hunted down and killed. So, some history. Helling is a comic/light novel I believe originally. When it was being made, someone had the bright idea to make a hellsing show about it. However, the show was made too fast and after a few episodes, reached the end of the materials released by the comic/light novels. So had to diverge and created it's own lore out of thin air for the end. Cause of that, most people don't like the 'Original' Hellsing. The animation is also quite old, and rushed at the end. Years later, the story finally did get finished, and the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs were released. Their release dates were... Spiratic to say the least. Episode 1-4 was somewhat consistant at around 3-6 months between each episode. Then Episode 5, 6, 7, and 8 took 4 YEARS to release, and finally the last 2 episodes, 9 and 10, took ANOTHER 2 years before releasing. So over all, 10 episode show, released in December of 2006, and didn't get finished releasing till Oct of 2014. But, dispite the long wait times, the show was fucking amazing. The first 4 episodes were a bit shaky, and not the best. But those "6" Years spent making the other 6 episodes really shows in quality of the story, animation, and voice acting. Then along came Team 4 Star, who decided to do an Abridge of the show, and as another Commenter, @colt01903, pointed out, would release episode during halloween time, giving them a full year to work on each episode and make sure things are perfect. Like the original show, personally I find episode 1-3 to be less... 'good', but starts to pick up much better from 4 onwards once they figured everything else and got more used to the flow of things. Now, some interesting bits of lore for the voice actors. You already heard and know, Alucard is voiced by the same person who did Perfect Cell. Another fun fact is the voice actor for Seras Victoria, or "the big titty police girl". That being that before she worked on Helling Abridge, Jesse Nowack, was a massive fan voice in the MLP community years and years ago. There is a fan character in MLP who does not speak in the show. But the fans took and created a bunch of fan creations of, including videos of her talking. That character is named DJ Pon3, and it was agreed by the entire community, that Nowacking, (Her nickname), was to be concidered the Fandom voice for that character. So anytime someone created content where that character spoke, 99.9% of the time, Nowacking was the one voicing that character. So when we heard she was the one voicing Seras in the Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, we rooted and cheered for her success and the success of the series. So much so, that even 10 years later, I'm now still praising her, and her amazing voice acting work, and telling you about her :3

Important context for hellsing 1. Episode 4 has audio issues. You can watch the correct version on twitch but youtube is fine 2. Vampires in this show are made by one vampire drinking the blood of a virgin of the opposite sex. Otherwise, they become a ghoul/zombie 3. This shit started in 2010 and they only released one episode a year for several years. Then they did less than 1 ep a year. So it ages slowly but strongly.

Alucard is more of an Anti hero in this. The Hellsing Organization was created to protect the crown and country from the other things that go bump in the night and Alucard is the entire offensive power of the hellsing organization. Hellsing Ultimate goes into a lot of it but this is a fun take on it.
