It’s good to see someone (you) sharing these tips and tricks, where others don’t think about it. Thumbs up mate.

That was pretty cool getting a shout out. My kids started screaming. They told me I was also now a famous KZbinr. I had to laugh. You definitely did simplify the process. There are for sure much more complicated ways of doing it. Have fun enjoying the rest of your Coronavacation.

Totally not even what I'm going to be doing but that is just so cool. I was just looking for how to install long plywood boards on a curve van roof without it falling off. So I won't be working with one big piece whatsoever but that was just really cool to see. In fact I don't even know exactly what I just watched all I know is that the math worked. Bravo.

We used to eyeball 1 inch PVC pipe for our arches. Looking back maybe it wasn’t the most perfect method but it was fast and never had a complaint
@adrianuk8102 Жыл бұрын
There’s easier way of creating that arch, as a brickie we used to cut boards to the width of the door or window, find the middle and then run the pencil attached to string line around the top. 5 min job and perfect arch every time 🤷🏻♂️

Matt what type and size nails do you use on batons? Im considering using rough cut lumber for my battons on nichiha fiber cement pannels. Also what caulk do you use for this application.. thanks your videos help this diy guy
@phildev744 ай бұрын
I find that it goes smoother for me if I hold the pencil in one hand and put my other on the wood with the pencil between my middle and pointer fingers. Doing this helps keep the string from slipping off the pencil.

Excellent explanation overall. but I'm confused on the number for the rise. Is the rise just an arbitrary number that you pick? I got confused at that part. I have an 84 inch area I'm going to build an archway in, and I'm trying to adapt your numbers to what I have. Thanks.

What type of rise would you suggest for a 10’ opening with a 10’5 high ceiling?
@joshclark19614 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt, i enjoy the videos you're doing great. Quick question, I'm new to the construction game and I'm in a situation where I'm being trained for a construction management position with little existing experience. What would you suggest to be a great learning point for the basics, in addition to asking people on site how things work and watching youtube videos an hour a day or so? I'd appreciate the response, thanks.

What determines your rise? I have 2 of these to fix because customer is not happy with the outcome that the previous framer did. The opening width is pretty wide with only a 9’ ceiling

I need an ellipse for a doorway that is going to be flat at the bottom for a 36" rectangular door. Any clues on how to figure this out? The door is 36 x 80. I want the rounded oval running over the door and ending at the bottom flat if that makes sense. It will be like an oval with the bottom folded up.
