🖋 Amazing review! So happy they fit true to size for you. As someone who helped launch this shoe- many testers claimed it ran a half size small. I have a narrow foot and they fit true to size for me too.

Outstanding review! Mizuno made a trick with the heel stack, the real midfoot stack height is more than 40mm.. very interesting shoe.

Cheers, Yaki! Mizuno did something different, but not tricky. 😉 World Athletics made the rule about the 40mm max stack measured at 12% of the length. Mizuno was just the first company to exploit the 12% measurement point.🤷🏻‍♂️😆

Great job on your race, Chris! I know it wasn’t the result you were hoping for, but still a phenomenon effort! 💪🏽 My quads tend to hurt no matter what shoes I wear in a marathon. How was your Achilles? Did the low drop affect them?

@@its_Matt_B_ Thanks mate 👊 To be honest couldn’t expect more off 20-25 mile weeks. These shoes take ALL the load off my Achilles & calf. After the marathon they felt 👌 Not sure how they work out the drop as they’re more like 15mm plus with the angle your foot sits within the shoe. Takes the pressure off the calf’s but puts it on the thighs. I’ve never had this issue better, including London. For me this shoe only works if you’re on the pace. Will only wear up to 10k’s

🖋 My super-shoes are the original Vaporflys and Alphaflys. I am looking at these next as I am a midsole striker and I concentrate of the smoothness of my run when I'm running at my tempo pace. I'm currently aiming at a sub 4h 5min BQ time and I am currently 4min outside that.

Did my Stryd workouts this morning with the Wave rebellion Pro. Walking to the start point was really very strange but once running even first steps warmup they feel absolutely normal. I am heel striker but no problem at all at probably 10 minutes mile beginning of the warmup.. Just so comfortable.. And this is how it felt during Fartlek and cooldown.. Just so comfortable and normal.. Excellent results in the run. Feel like a USABLE Alphafly V1... {I can't run in the Alphafly V1 at all.. Kills my Achilles Tendon and low calf muscle} .After hard (VO2 max) my legs feel fresh... My pace on the cooldown back was ~5 min per km so really fast for me. All in all forget the looks. It's just an amazing shoe. Will take it on my long hard run next week. By the way.. I went half a size up because I have WIDE FEET. Fit is amazing. It's a wide shoe 👍🏻. Could have gone TTS?

@@its_Matt_B_ basically I do 2.5km warmup going to Tempo at the end. Then 8 x 2 minutes at 108% CP with 90 second easy run betw follow by 2.5km Tempo run back home. My 8 x 2 minutes is uphill. My HR in the last set was 165 (I am 61) and my legs felt tired. Recover was quite instant. Was 0530 when starting but already 26°C 🙄

✒️ Thanks for the review! I'm really interested in these but a little concerned about the fit. I usually wear a 12 2E. My go to racing shoe has been the New Balance SC Elite v3. I recently tried the regular width SC Elite v3 and found the fit just fine, so I'm hoping this holds true with these shoes as well.

They’re definitely worth trying! Find somewhere with free shipping both ways and try them on! Don’t judge them by how they feel walking around your home. They feel weird when you walk in them! 🤣

🖋 Thanks for the video. I was waiting for you to review this one. My current marathon shoe is Alphafly 1. I am definitely considering this shoe for my next marathon. I cannot explain but I have a strong feeling that this shoe will work for me. It is a pretty special design. Just one question: Was it TTS for you? Do you have a thumb-width space in front of your longgest toe? I heard that this debut colorway runs a bit short and other reviewers are recommending 1/2 size up while the regular colorways are TTS etc.

This was definitely TTS for me. I remember seeing that some of the early reviewers got pre-production models and the size wasn't dialed in. I didn't pick up a pair until after they were released and they were spot on!

Hi Matt, I finally got to test these shoes as demo shoes at a group run hosted by Mizuno and Fleet Feet. I had actually met the rep in another run a week earlier and she brought these to this run just for me. 😀I wear normally size 10 and she had size 10 and 10.5 and I felt 10.5 fit better. However, I only did a little over 2 miles in them because it was a 106F day here in Austin, TX area at the time I tried in the afternoon. I did like the comfort and bounce when I landed at the highest stack point, but I also found them a bit less stable than Alphafly v1 and even as I knew where to land, it took a lot of concentration to maintain fast pace. I still think they are quite special design but now I am not sure they would be my next marathon shoe knowing that I wouldn't be able to maintain my form discipline for that long.

Yeah, It's funny how minor things, like low funds, seem to get in the way of our fun! I've never run in the Alphafly, but if that and the V1 Endo Pro are your shoes of choice, you may want to check out the Endo Elite. My review of that drops next Friday!

@@its_Matt_B_ I've been told that it's an extremely good time. I'm mainly do 5k & 10k races......my 5k pb is 18:05 and 10k is 38:38. Both times where set wearing the Hoka Rocket x2's. But I'm starting to slowing enjoy the mizuno more especially for those longer miles, can't race anything further than a 10k in the Hokas for some reason.....maybe because theres very aggressive plate in the shoe.

Got the Wave Rebellion Pro an hour ago in the Kakizome color at last. Went up half a size.. I am 43 in Saucony.. Nike.. New Balance.. But Mizuno in 27.5 cm says 42.5.. But since I have wide feet and some (not you) advice going up half a size I did. They fit amazing. Enough room in the midfoot and toebox.. Do seem a half size long but I think going TTS would crush my toes. I did notice that the tongue keeps bunging up on one side when I put them on.. Of course it's the add on.. They saw the sticker with the size to the side of the tongue.. Why not put it like a sticker.. So I cut this out.. Problem solved. Walking around the house feels super strange. Like having a tennis ball under your arches.. I already did my run in the morning so I will run in them tomorrow morning for the first time.. My question.. I have the Stryd hard Fartlek workout tomorrow.. 10 x 1. 5 minutes at 108% CP.. How suitable is it for sprints ❓To high? To unstable❓

I ordered Mizuno rebellion pro and it hasn't arrived yet. Do you think Rebellion pro is as good as aplhafly and adios 3 pro? I can cancel my order and buy nike or adidas. what are your experiences?

My experience is that the Rebellion Pro is ideal for faster speeds. It works best when you land on your forefoot. If you land on your forefoot the Wave Rebellion Pro is just as good as the AF3! If you tend to strike your heel when you’re racing I would go with the Nike or Adidas!

I've done 2 workouts and just can't seem to dial up the paces. 3-month build up I smashed all my quality sessions except with the Rebellion....I will try them a few more times cause I really want to like them, but so far... they haven't been great.

@It's Matt B they feel as if I should be on pace, but I'm actually slower, so then I need to increase my effort. Unlike the Endorphin Elites or AlphaFly V1, I'm usually faster than target paces on what feels like the same effort.

It is very comparable to the VF at the 5k because the 5k is so fast! Also, the stability is about the same in both. This shoe feels faster than the VF, but I don’t have concrete data that it actually is. I will be making a comparison video between this and the VF3 in the next few weeks. 👊🏽

Yeah, the price is 😑, but it’s right in line with the competition. As far as Pebax, it has to be. I can’t find it listed, but there is no way Mizuno would use anything else (and it feels like Pebax underfoot). As far as energy return, I don’t know. That is also not often listed.
