Breaking it down like that makes it so much easier to approach and understand. Thanks for another great lesson.

I love this! I wish that you'd play the whole song thru at the very beginning of the video tho so we can hear what we're aiming for. :)

Matt, I'm looking to purchase a uke hanger, and have come across those that do not allow the uke to lay parralel to the wall, but which holds the uke at an angle away from the wall (which, I presume, places undue pressure where the neck meets the body). If the uke hanger behind you allows your uke to hang parallel to the wall, not at an angle, I'd appreciate knowing which brand/model it is, thank you!

This is pretty flippin' fun, gotta say! 😊 Question: So, the Travis picking part is *only* the pattern that is repeated by the thumb (on the G and C strings) and the melody is a separate thing apart from that? Is that always what Travis picking is? For some reason I thought Travis picking didn't include a melody. Thank you for this, Matt! I mean, it's no Gael but it's still pretty good. 😉😅

Travis picking is using that thumb bass part while playing something else. In this case it’s the melody, in others it can be chords. As long as the thumb is consistent and other fingers are making “treble” (pun), it’s Travis picking!

@@MattDahlberg ha nice! I was way off "bass" with my understanding of Travis picking then. 😅 That's why my brain rejected your explanation at first because it was fighting my previous, incorrect understanding of what it was. Thank ye! 😊

Why do chords when they can be added later.....only really need the string picking pattern....?
