I imagine Yeah Racing and 3Racing are having a party now - they can basically make the entire car in upgrades :P In 10 years Tamiya Legends (great channel!) will build a 600 dollar CC-01 just out of blue bits :P

Great building and filming Matteo. I am, like many others probably, “a bit” confused with all the glue and plastic ... But great to see it coming together. Let’s not judge it yet 😊

But everyone knows by now, I can't afford to. 😞 I respect and look forward to your final analysis of this controversial Rig. Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Using ordinary nuts as pre-assembly thread inserts during seems to becoming a common trend. I've seen a few build videos recently that use this technique. I really wish Tamiya would switch to hex hardware as other manufacturers have. Anyway, very nice video again Matteo. I really appreciate this shorter format.

Looks kind of bulky looking, One good thing it looks like they used all upgraded plastic and not just the old standard ABS stuff. Nice work Matteo!

Hello Matteo! A nice video this is as usual. When I see it I think this is a re branded MST CMX or MST has re branded a Tamiya chassis. In your video (MST CMX Scale Crawler Chassis Review and Comparison with Tamiya CC-01) you call the MST CMX "unofficial CC-02". And when I look at chassis details in that video I see many similarities between the MST CMX and Tamiya CC-02. The parts in CC-02 has Tamiya stamp and the upper shook mounts is different to the MST CMX. And if I look at the gearbox in both videos I see both MST and Tamiya has same color on the plastic. In the closeup on MST CMY front axles and wheel axle you can see bronze bushings and it looks by the color same as Tamiya and defiantly 5x11 I think.Anyhow great videos and I´m looking forward for next part in the build.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, there are some similarities in basic construction, but the details are quite different! 👍😊

@@Matteomeier Thanks for the reply. A friend who has built MST says that Tamiya and MST have collaborations. He probably thought mainly about the bodies. I think maybe even in that collaboration it was that after a few years. Tamiya can sell the MST chassis with there name and some changes.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there are no collaborations. MST used on some older kits Tamiya bodies, but now they make their own bodies. And the chassis have no equal parts.

Hi Matteo,enjoying this build series, I’m thinking about getting a cc02 kit and you’re helping me make up my mind. I’m not sure if I like the g wagon body, it doesn’t float my boat lol . Have you decided on a colour for the body yet , i really don’t have a clue what colour to paint mine when I get it. Maybe a flip colour or metallic purple, not sure mate. Great video .

Thanks Mike! I've decided to go with a decent pearlmut white.

Thanks for your work, it's very pleasant to follow this build with tips edit: by the way, i'm not very fond a the tamiya choice to make glued parts to hold nuts, it's seems to be new in tamiya kits. Do you think it would be durable for future service opérations ?
@ventisette.4 жыл бұрын
That has to be one of the worst design choices in RC history.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you like the build videos! Yes, this is a bit weird and new for Tamiya kits. But I think it will be no problem for future service, because the nut will keep in place.

plastic drive shafts ????????,that is 1st thing what wil be go hop up to metal i think
@deusexaethera4 жыл бұрын
Normally I would agree, but the motor included with this truck is not very strong and I would be surprised if it's capable of damaging the plastic driveshafts.

I think it will be not a big problem till you upgrade the motor...

Glueing nuts?! Come on Tamiya...
@Elola724 жыл бұрын
Did you build one? The quality and the CC-02 is really great! The "glue" is not a must, things nuts stay at their place, I guess Tamiya mention this just in case you "rebuild" there are so many nuts very small in hidden places that you could lost one.
@ExperienceRC4 жыл бұрын
I get the impression it’s like building your own toy grade RC. Too much plastic for the very high price tag in comparison to its competition. Tamiya need to really redesign their RCs with a whole new approach, otherwise once the current generation of Tamiya fans have left the hobby, they will struggle. Pretty much every other RC manufacturer produces better designed higher quality RC’s, with the exception of their Tanks and Lorries, which I believe is only a matter of time.
@corabbring81984 жыл бұрын
I understand what you’re saying. I’m a big Tamiya fan but I’m a Little bit disappointed about the quality from this build. There is a big change that my next model will be from another RC manufacturer even if it’s more expensive.
@ExperienceRC4 жыл бұрын
Cor Abbring it’s a shame because they have such a fantastic variety and on the whole their prices are good, however it pains me to pay full retail when I know absolutely none of the profits are going into R&D, as everything seems to be re-releases. I’m half way through building my first Grand Hauler, and whilst I’m looking forward to it being complete, the build hasn’t been straight forward, as the manual is out of date and old which is a shame, and so is the kit. Once other manufactures offer rivalry products I honestly can’t see Tamiya doing too well. I hope whichever truck you decide to buy next you enjoy. I have quite a few different premium brands now, and I have to admit the quality of every single one of them is much superior to Tamiya, and these are companies who are pumping money into R&D and developing new trucks, it’s a shame. Have a great day.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
I agree with your statement. At least they released something new, unfortunately, they do it in their very special own way... the Tamiya way, you love it or hate it...

Still far too many self-tapping screws.
@deusexaethera4 жыл бұрын
Advanced RC builders will already have a large stash of hex-head machine-thread screws they can use.

I think the plastic will be too soft for machine thread screws... 😅
