What a huge loadout. I took my loin cloth, a stick, and a rock...you know, the essentials.

You are 100% right about that UD Fastpack 20. I bought one when they first came out with it and it has been amazing how well it has held up and performed. On a side note..You are an inspiration to me for sure and I wish I had the guts to be able to live like you do.

New balance minimum ftw! great toe splay and likewise Ive found the minimalist option allows for greater shock absorption through the foot and achilles, reducing the impact on the knee. This series was the last push I needed to head out on my first multiday run, heading into summer here but can make it work. Thanks for the inspiration Matt and Sarah, keep it coming!

Just finished up Wyomings Great Divide Basin along the CDT...my first so called ultralite hike...lol...ive always been a minimalist, but this ultralite stuff is a whole different animal...with a base weight of only 14 lbs sounds great untill you add eight days rations and three liters of water...plus 2 fuel canisters for the MSR pocket rocket...my HMG Windrider pack did not feel so light anymore...i feel an external frame would have carried better....thanks for sharing your loadout amigo...atb...woods.

Hey Matt. I think you do amazing stuff. You may want to try Bedrock Sandals model Carin. I know that you had a knee injury on your PCT run and opted for thicker footwear after. The Carin by bedrocks has a fairly thick 14mm soul and a very interesting lacing system that is far simpler than your typical huarache sandal. Cheers!

Very good video. How much your backpack weighs with all your gear in including food and water? How much did you pay for a The bivy? What is the level of Confort you get with this gear? Thank you so much for sharing this video. God bless you.

Re watching this after the chat yesterday. I really like the idea of that back pack. I have been kicking around the idea of doing some lake to lake jogging and camping and fishing for food for a few days in the high Uintas. I'd like to carry as little as possible and eat as much from fish and water from the lake and wild edibles as possible. The lake system up there is crazy. You can hit 3 to 5 lakes a day for days. Ideas!

Not carrying a superior knife/tool for fear of "freaking people out" is as childish as the people freaking out. What's next? Don't wear camo? Don't carry an axe? Those might offend people too. Same goes with free thinking and free speech. Be careful! People might be triggered. Stop Matt!!! Just Stop!!!
