Matthew Tkachuk is an absolute MENACE

Mathew Tkachuk is an absolute menace and todays game 4 matchup between the Boston Bruins vs the Florida Panthers, he was at it again. It started after he got absolutely laid out by a huge open ice hit from Charlie McAvoy. A few minutes later as the period ended, he retaliated on Hathaway with a nasty cross check from behind as Hathaway went down and a scrum ensued. This built throughout the game and after Boston blew it open, it boiled over with a scrum in front of Ullmark and Tkachuk and Ullmark went at it! Ullmark got tossed in the end but it was another great game in what has been a fantastic NHL Playoffs. I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

I still don’t understand how Matthew Tkachuk didn’t get a single penalty, but yet Carlo, and Forbort got minor penalties for fighting, and Ullmark got a 10 minute misconduct, and because there was only 3 minutes left in the game he had to leave,for basically doing nothing except throwing his blocker and glove to the ice.

Ullmark was kicked for using his blocker to punch. If a goalie uses the blocker to throw a punch they are gone! Has happened a few times this year where a goalie gets the boot for using the blocker to punch. Nothing to do with the team removing him, it the rules
@scanman87
@scanman87 Жыл бұрын
@Cardboard Sports Sorry, but you're mistaken. It was said in the post-game press conference the choice to remove Ullmark was Montgomery's. A goalie can still play with a 10 minute misconduct being served by another player. A player, except a goaltender, who is assessed a Misconduct penalty will be removed from the ice for a period of 10 minutes actual playing time. I'll say, he's fortunate it was more of an open hand slap with the blocker then the blocker itself...as a goalie, that's what I looked at.

The inconsistency is what the players hate. You establish how the game will be called then completely go against the grain. Perfect example is game 3 Toronto Tampa where Braydon Point’s obvious goal that went in b4 the whistle was called back while Marchand’s same play was called a goal. But I think the inconsistencies in penalties come down to having 2 officials on the ice. How many times is the guy behind play outside the blueline making a call while the ref standing 5 feet from the play never raises his arm? Every year it’s the same thing. The first round is typically called tight & turns into a special teams series but then as the # & quality of referees get whittled down you see a more traditional approach to penalties. 2019 Stanley Cup was called tight the entire way until the finals & the refs just swallowed their whistles. It turned into 1990’s hockey where everything short of paralyzing a player was fair game. That Cup hurt the league in so much as it reinforced that old standard of anything goes in the playoffs, which is obviously not the direction the NHL wanted to go. Thus this battle plays out on ice in each series where the refs are trying to maintain the new standard but the players the crowd & the ratings are suggesting a happy medium between old & new is far more entertaining. I also think these refs are too much influenced by the score & by by the idea of needing to even things up so that a bad call is in turn followed by another bad call on the other team. It takes away from the flow of the game. A great official is one that I don’t notice his number or his name. But that is a rarity in today’s NHL unfortunately

I hope Hathaway (please correct my spelling) ends up being alright. Sure, seeing players get checked and all that may be fun, but it's never fun seeing someone get hurt. I'd also like to say I'm relatively new to hockey. I know a few names and generally how the game is played, but I'm no expert. I went to my first game a couple weeks ago. I love your videos because the style. I like how you mention a notable event and go on to summarize the game. Sometimes, your commentary puts a smile on my face, so thank you, Next Man Up!

Tkachuk is a real prick for that, the period ended and there was absolutely zero need to cross check Hathaway like that. At least Hathaway was alright to play the rest of the game but wow what a dirty move from Matt Tkachuk. He's a throwback to the old days. A great player with edge. Maybe it gets out of hand but no one can deny his fight. When did we start embracing pussy hockey, I don't know. Reading the comments, you would think Bruins grew up on the ice capades and not nhl hockey.

@@rockmyballsplease It's just a different time. When I was a teenager Tie Domi was coming up through the AHL and played for my hometown Binghamton Rangers. Used to watch him beat the stuffing out of guys several times during his time there and nobody thought twice about it. League kinda put some stuff in place to curb the fighting and increase player safety so younger fans didn't get the experience you and I may have grown up on. You know if the roles had been reversed and Marchy gets in a cheap one after the whistle we'd probably defend him like cat fans are doing with Tkachuk. He wasn't pulled by the coach. He was given a Misconduct penalty by the officials. It's a matter of game record. Look it up. Simply if he'd been pulled by the coach, he'd have stayed on the bench. However, when assessed a Misconduct penalty you have to go to the locker room. But, as I said, look it up. The penalty is a matter of game record.

@@reallist9246 Thats nasty. Matthew & Brady tkachuk have one hell of a great hockey mom. You can knock that vocabulary off. Or leave it in the locker room & edit your comment They're both outstanding hockey players, with a great hockey mom. Matthew tkachuk did his job and then some. I applaud him for what he pulled during playoffs, it was effective and obviously worked. His skills put that puck in the back of the net. His grit fought to get there. During playoffs, Brad marchand Captained the Bruins the first 4 games, won 3 out of 4. Cuz the lil ratt was playing playoff hockey, gritty games. Not taking that crap & dishing it back out Patrice bergeron and his gentleman's game came back game 5. The fun was over, that leadership lost 3 Games In A Row 🙄 Apparently Bergeron and Coach Montgomery did not get the memo it was playoffs -Matthew got the memo Bruins were not responding game 5, when Patrice returned from injury, and Brad marchand was dropped down to assistant captain They were told not to respond, as instructed by their coach and leader... I don't blame Matt. Hockey is a game of exceeding boundaries. If no one's going to stop him? It's effective? Then what the hell! I've been wearing black & gold for well over a half-century I wasn't pissed at Matt over his tka-chokeholds 😆 I was frustrated with the bruins that they didn't let Charlie McAvoy simply flatten him out, take the penalty and move on! And you're absolutely correct Bruins GM, Don Sweeney has watched bruins get tossed around & flattened like pancakes 🥞 the last two playoffs, since Nick Ritchie left and zdeno Chara departed. We're all tired of watching a 5 ft 9 inch lil ratt trying to play enforcer instead of in scoring position. Yep, big bad bruins are coming out to play- And yes, our bruins son, now a big brother, is coming back to his home ice. Looooch! Between Linus ullmark setting the tone for his team & upcoming season, clocking Tkachuck across the head with his blocker, and looch returning? I can't wait for this upcoming season... Payback's a bytch. just let hockey play it out, Tkachuck is putting out what he's taken to get this far in the NHL guys carry vendettas on for years... Let them take care of it, you don't need to get nasty as a fan. You're not getting the bruises I'm looking forward to a lot of vengeance! 1972 big bad bruins revenge tour That was the year after they choked, as the 1971 cup favorite After setting a franchise record for most winning regular season with a brand new coach, the record they broke this past season. They choked first round against the Habs That sounds familiar 🤔 1972/2024 🏆🐻
