@ignas 1011001 Well, the Jedi are objectively right within the Star Wars universe. It actually would interfere with the Will of the Force. The Force in Star Wars actually has a will and doesn't want the Jedi to prevent death. They are supposed to make people's lifes better, not prolong them. When any Star Wars character dies, they become one with the cosmic Force. (It's that stuff about the living Force and the cosmic Force sustaining each other.) Only Sith and other darksiders don't become one with the Force because their unnatural use of the Force severed them from this cycle. (Which is why death is their greatest fear. Death is actually final for them.) In other words, Sith actually die, everyone else doesn't. Powerful light side Force-sensitives can learn to become a Force ghost. Through this form they can influence and interact with the physical world even though they are no longer part of the living Force.

Aniclictim perhaps but had a nice message that you didn't need to be related to anyone important to be a jedi, kinda liked that. whayever.), but since it is canon weither we like it or not, might as well roll with the one few usable elements. Besides it'snot like Anakin bein "birthed from the force" ever made a lot of sense.. or for that matter came back a lot. If he was jedi Jesus, he sure didn't act much like it, nor did anyone else.

@@s.m.2523 That's not how the Force works, either in the films (before-Disney) or in the books, canon or otherwise. Being related to a Force user doesn't make you instantly good at it, you still have to actually be trained in the Force to use it. Being strong in the Force but untrained only means you have above-average reflexes and luck (Anakin's pod-racing ability, Luke's piloting skills). ("No there is another") And I'm not arguing it makes sense, not that the sequel trilogu sin't full of very lazy writting that goes nowhere, I'm just saying that constancy has never been all that present in star wars canon because it works almost entirely by rule of cool/whatever makes the plot tick, especialy when it comes to the force. It's /not/ and never been either hard sci fi or hightly detailled, especially factoring in all the EU stuff. It didn't start with Disney and should the franchise ever changed hands, it won't stop there. Is all.

11th if you go by continuity. To be fair though the entire franchise is just one long string of "fuck it, throw it in" with no real rhyme or reason, it started as a mess and just got more bloated with nonsense as more and more writers jumped on board. Grogu is older than Rey and his background is generally unknown. He don't know what kind of training, if any, he's had. So it's easier to believe he can do certain things, especially when he has the weakness of it taking a lot out of him and making him pass out. For Rey, we know that she has had no training and that she didn't even train herself because she didn't even know the Jedi existed. She's basically in the place of Han when Luke starts his training. So just imagine if Han started to do all the shit Rey does. It would be dumb, right? Instead what they should have done was had Rey's backstory be vague, have her know the Jedi and the force exist. Have her be a bit more jaded and less starry eyed. Then we can more readily accept her abilities because we don't know that she's had zero training and is a complete Mary sue. Instead we can think "what if she's a Jedi in hiding or is self taught." Things like that. Also, we all know the only reason they had Grogu do that shit was to make up for Rey doing it. You just know some exec forced that into the script to make up for another one of Reys Mary Sue moments and make it seem like it isn't completely unique to her. Like they are saying "See? She isn't a Mary Sue, the babu can do it to. Which is somehow better"
@dvmpld9103
@dvmpld9103 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's partially about how it is presented, Grogu was trained by several masters, and Ahsoka says that he has a lot of fear in him. Maybe one of his masters taught him how to channel the fear of loss in order to heal allies, but this connection to fear turned this into a forbidden technique for the Jedi. The Jedi were very afraid of anything that could "lead to the Dark Side".

@@wolfgod6443 true, it was a response to complaints. George Lucas may not have always had the best ideas, but he stuck to his guns. @@AWriterWandering I'm not sure about TLJ's relationship to TFA, but I do know it was Rian Johnson's vision as a fan. I think it makes sense some fans would agree and others wouldn't, because fans are different. It's also why I'm sure (and have already seen) that TLJ stands the test of time. I'll always hold TFA dear though, because what many forget is that before TFA existed, the Prequels were still ruining lives even without the internet. TFA may be a copy of ANH, but people are kidding themselves if they think the fanbase didn't need that. TFA healed this fanbase. TRoS meanwhile is made with good intentions, but terrible, terrible judgement. My two cents, only TRoS needs to change. TRoS is not the movie anyone really wanted to make. I've heard John Favreau (made Mandalorian) tried to take the reigns, but everyone was too scared to rock the boat again, and that backfired miserably. For what its worth though, TRoS has great practical affects. It's still a good movie, but it's like if Solo a Star Wars Story took RotJ's place.

Whilst it is definitely poor writing for Rey's power spike to go unexplained, the Legends somehow manage to mess it up too. Legends Jedi learn force healing. All of them. So with the chosen one struggling to even do it, I dont think Rey should have been able to do it flawlessly.

Very funny video, but we all know that from the first moment she, without any kind of training, was already much more powerful than any other Jedi before, not even the chosen one of the Force, Anakin. It is true that healing with the Force is a technique of the Force that has been seen used in the comics of the Expanded Universe or Legenz (which is no longer canonical by order of the Disney Empire) but even so this is not a way to introduce in the cinematographic saga. She, without any contact with other Jedi, was able to use the mind-suggestion-control technique, the Jedi trick that Qui-Gon and Kenobi used. She was never an Initiate, even less a Padawan, and yet she was able to perform a Jedi technique. After Kenobi died, remember how hard it was for Luke to mentally manipulate a simple lightsaber? And that he already had training with Kenobi, and training alone. The creators of this sequel trilogy would have us believe that she has several times more Force potential than Anakin? Ridiculously more. This is the same thing that Disney has done in Captain Marvel and Mulan: make the female lead and empower her so much that she becomes ridiculous and forced.

@@garesonc9672 Haha, yeah. In the specific case of that Force healing technique, perhaps someone could say that that moment in Episode 4 when Kenobi places his hand on Luke's face, when he falls unconscious, is the healing technique. Hardly, rather at best it seems he was using the Force to sense if Luke was okay. But be that as it may, the correct thing to introduce a new technique would be with a Jedi survivor of Order 66 and that it be a Jedi that was not so much in the role of warrior, like Anakin and Kenobi, but one more oriented to the study of the Force. On the other hand, there is that scene in which Anakin blocks shots from Han Solo's laser gun... in some places it is said that this was a Force technique to absorb or dissipate energy with the Force (in which case Anakin spent several years to learn new techniques and as Darth Vader showed him spend time meditating alone on the Force) but elsewhere there is talk of Cortosis gloves or Phrik's alloy.

@@fleerultra5989 Now I'm all for admitting the Force is mainly a gimmick to solve solutions, and are not going to defend it too much (it is never explained how it works after all). But your argument is based upon the notion that every single Jedi is 100% proficient with every single way to use the Force, which I am not sure is how it's presented in the movies. For example, we don't see Maul or Obi Wan use Force Lightning in their dual, or Luke and Obi Wan use Force speed to escape the Death Star, or Master Syfo-Dyas use Force ghost to tell the Council about the Clone Army. This is of course because the Force is mainly used as a narrative tool. But again, lets work with the notion of everyone knowing all the Jedi trick. Obi Wan heals Qui-Gon. Maybe Palpatine would focus his resources on having Qui-Gon assassinated, and thus trigger Anakin's downfall? We know he clearly wanted Anakin from the start. As for Shmi, would Anakin have spared the Tuskens just because she didn't die? Her suffering was clear, and Anakin could've killed the all after healing her simply to protect her, not only at the moment, but from future attacks as well.
@enskje

@@Historian474 And what did Padme die from exactly? Anakin's actions. She never received any wounds to heal if I recall the scene correctly. I don't see that part changing at all even if Anakin could heal. He had a vision of Padme's death, and Palpatine lured him with her salvation. If the Sith had abilities beyond even the healing we see in the Sequels (which it appears they have, based on the tale of Plagueis and Palpatine's return) he would be just at tempted, perhaps even more.
