You didn't roughing up the surface enough and you want a little bit of air in the tube that way when the tube expands the patch doesn't have tension on it or any wrinkles

DO NOT PATCH YOUR TIRE LIKE THIS. You need to buff the area real good, spray prep (brake cleaner), scrape it off, apply glue, wait till sticky, apply patch, then use a stitcher to press it on.

I had trouble removing the upper polythene layer from the patch. The rest all worked fine. Just surprised that I had taken my bike on all surfaces for 1300 km and it never got punctured. But this time it was just a tiny 2mm thorn that punctured the tire.

you have to stretch the patch while pressing it on, if the plastic doesnt come off on its own you`re not doing it right

How do you know where the hole is at?

If you don’t know where it is, fill the tube and put it in a bucket or plugged sink under the and squeeze it. Look for bubbles and keep spinning new parts of the tube under the water and squeezing until you see bubbles. Then mark it if it is small enough that you can’t see it.
