And those dishes better be just the way they always been. They don’t criticize but I can tell they want the old way even if I think it’s better. My mother in law was born in 1930 in richmond virginia and I was fortunate to have her in my life being a mexican I knew zero about hearty scrumptious soil food I’m forever grateful to her for teaching me not only this dish but the cabbage with salt pork, sweet and absolutely delicious and I thank you for keeping these recipes alive because we rarely are exposed to these particular dishes and the techniques & ingredient involved so please continue to share otherwise it’s all be forgotten so thank you so very much from california

Oh my gosh. This looks so good. You are not old enough to be a granny, but that looks like something my granny would make. She would always stew okra, tomatoes and onions. We all loved it.
