By The Way gtx 1050ti 4gb or 1060 6gb or rx 570 4gb for editing?
@whoismatt7 жыл бұрын
Haha oh man! Prices are insane right now! I would still try to get 16GB of ram and a 1050ti for budget 4K editing. That should hopefully all still be under $1000 :)

Nice footages. Do you follow the 180 shutter angle ? Meaning - keeping the A7s2 at shutter speed 1/50 while shooting at 4K25fps And shutter at 1/125 while shooting 1080p60fps And shutter at 1/200 while shooting 1080p100fps

Yes I always follow it when shooting at 24 or 30fps. When I'm at 60fps or higher I don't follow it.

There's something you might want to try for the drone footage: As you may know, the D-Cinelike colour profile has a bit more colour depth and perhaps bandwith compared to the D-LOG profile but it lacks some dynamic range. My thought is that you might be able to use the D-Cinelike profile with reduced contrast to get the dynamic range and at the same time hopefully get more colour information than with the D-LOG profile. You might be able to get better results when colour grading (I don't know if this actually works, but I do think there's a good chance). I know that, usually, a log profile should really get all the image information so that you can get everything out of it in post, but even though the P4P's 100Mbps bitrate is quite high, it's not raw (and as far as I know, this "getting every bit of info by shooting as flat as possible" works best with raw footage). Also, obviously, the footage does look amazing, but at some points I did get the impression that the colours were less vibrant than they could/should be (and than they are with some of the other cameras) and I do think you are getting the best out of your footage in post. Or maybe this effect was intentional for the aerials to make the couple pop out a bit by keeping the background just a little bit dull? Anyways, if you find the time you can maybe play around with the D-Cinelike profile and the style settings and maybe get a small improvement to the footage done or find out that it doesn't help.
@whoismatt7 жыл бұрын
I haven’t messed with D-Cinelike a ton, but I’ve found that D-Log works really well with a variety of color grading luts and still offers tons of versatility. Good ideas though :)

Hey Matt, Im gonna be filming a wedding in Europe in 2020, the whole thing is gonna be in the country and a lot of the candid shots are gonna be in a old castle. The thing is I have never been to Europe and a lot of what I know about the area (not the country I know a lot about it) so what I wanna know from your experience is how many days in advance should I arrive in Europe to do prep before the big day and how heavy of gear I should bring with me since Im gonna be flying from Canada and don't wanna risk carrying too much since I would be filming this wedding solo. Thank you SIR!!
@whoismatt6 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin! I would arrive a few days early to acclimate to the time change and make sure your gear all arrives safely. I wouldn’t bring a ton of gear, but it completely depends on what you have.
@neilyoungboy6 жыл бұрын
@@whoismattthanks Sir, for me, I run Sony Gear, I'm planning to get the Sony A7ii prior to filming in Europe (if I get more than 5 bookings this year than this camera is a definite YES for 2019!). Id probably arrive on Thursday to get settled in and like you said check all my got there A-OK! I think id probably carry 2 DSLR's, a double tripod set, zhiyun crane, a shotgun and a lav set, do you think that sounds compact enough for a European destination wedding?

Hey John! I explained this a bit in my previous BTS videos. I like 30fps because it slows down just slightly and makes the film look smoother and a bit more dreamlike overall.

How much do you typically charge for this wedding film?
@sadlerstudios4666 жыл бұрын
Hey I was wondering if I could have some advice, I’ve recently filmed a wedding and the edit was a total of 8 mins. I was really impressed with the outcome as I thought it was shot really well. When I handed it to the client she was really angry because she wanted the video to last an hour. Now I showed her examples of wedding videos that were between 5-10 mins and she said she liked the style. So that’s what I did. I don’t really know what to do now as she’s refusing to pay. I’m only charging £100

The accident with the chain reminded me of my biggest fear in life. Jumping over one of those chains with a skateboard and the back truck gets stuck on the chain which is a bit loose so there's a second where it gives and then it stops and you slam in to the ground 😭
