I wish Micro-Space had lasted long enough as a RL rocketry company to have parody parts in KSP. They were the only aerospace company (with clients!) sponsored by a Baptist Church and did a bunch of innovative/ridiculously dangerous engineering. One big thing was the use of composites in fuel storage designs - the guy actually had a pretty good sideline launching sounding rockets for weather study using these lightweight systems. He was a true space minimalist, as well. The one time I met him he had an on-orbit personal transporter that MIGHT have been able to get itself + a 70-80KG from the surface of the moon to a pick-up altitude for a space-based version of the old Skyhook program they used in the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. It was, well, imagine this but in real life. Angle aluminum channel was used for the primary structural members, along with other POTS hardware used for joints and connectors. The real worrying bit was the use of medical rubber tubing as a stretch material and shock absorber. He was definitely mad, but his atmospheric rockets flew, so he wasn't incompetent.

The irony is, some of the "bargain" parts are actually _more expensive_ than their more "high-tech" counterparts. For example, the space box costs *over twice as much* as the Mk1 Command Pod. (600 for the command pod vs >1200 for the box) I honestly think the mod needs a price rework so the prices for the bargain parts are actually lower than their more advanced counterparts. Add: I know that the mod is intended to be a joke, but like, if you're gonna call it the Bargain Rocket Parts mod, you might as well make the parts an actual bargain.

10:00 Same varying shear stresses (worse, because the tank is kept after the SRBs detach), same angular momentum and tank slosh problems (worse, because the shuttle tank was only on one side), the added complication of the angular movement of the CoM of the vehicle, the same varying temperature and pressure. But since the external tank didn't have an engine, I guess all that was simple, eh? Sorry, I've read the counterarguments, and they don't change the fact that the shuttle engineers already did it decades ago. SpaceX just simply didn't want to repeat the mistake of making a stupidly complicated vehicle and pretending it was cost-effective for decades.

"A cardboard box. A cardboard box usually consists of a thin pasteboard with a corrugated paper center. They are usually made of recycled paper. It was first invented in Europe over one hundred years ago. It was originally used to absorb one's sweat when wearing hats. With the same amount of wood to make one wooden box, you can make six or seven cardboard boxes. And since it's recyclable, it's highly economical. In addition, it is strong and easy to store. That is why it is widely used for packing. But to avoid damaging weapons and other delicate instruments when shipping them, they should be packed in stronger boxes, like... wood or something. Also, the crevices should be filled with Styrofoam to prevent them from moving around. ...So anyway, what's with the box?"
