Replacing these fires me up! I show you how to avoid the dirt life as I go about making this car as perfect as can be. That includes polishing underneath the trim where you'll never see, but it makes all the difference to me knowing it's clean.

Lol when you were talking about cleaning and polishing under the sill plate, I feel the exact same way. I don't even have ocd, but I'm working on restoring a first gen Miata in my small garage, and doing that type of thing and having that type of mindset is actually one of the easiest ways to make progress without even having to spend a dime. Ive taken every body panel off, the entire interior out, and even taken the engine/drivetrain out just to super clean anything and everything. Makes the whole car feel 10x better.

Try shadow black nitrile gloves . The best I have found . Not to thick not to thin. Had to share with you . Car is looking clean !

Taking an E36 M3 that was already one of the nicest anyone would ever see and making it better than new. Makes me want to do the same for an E24 M6, but I know I'm way better off (financially) just keeping my 'driver' quality 635CSI and having my fun with it without it costing much of anything. My car's 'good for a 35 year old car' but this E36 is going to be absolutely stunning - it already was. If this car ever gets sold, the buyer better be an extreme BMW enthusiast, they'll be getting the best E36 M3 that ever existed.

I just ordered fronts for my Euro ‘96 sedan. Only place I could find a pair was EBay and they were 240$ with freight. Now I’m not sure if they are NOS or not 🤔. Can’t wait to do all this but I’m not sure I won’t just hand polish this area, not gonna lie…To buy all these tools and polishes is a huge rabbit hole of needs 😆

I could be wrong but weren't the sill plates a dealer installed option? I'm thinking back then there were different width options. Even though I have more info in the palm of my hand than used in the Space Shuttle, I'm still asking reminiscent questions.

I’m here for the polishing under the door jam. That’s where it’s at. Just got my car back from the dealership after a recal and my paint got absolutely trashed 🥴😥😥😭 they completely destroyed it with the Mats on my fenders They already knew not to wash it but they absolutely destroyed my paint 😭😢😢

You are so luck on that rubber door seal. Be careful getting in and out because it's a known quick wear point. To replace, it's $500 a side. Going through that now

The door sills are very resilient but the rubber on the left and right sides tears off. Look at any E36 M3 for sale - the rubber edges will be missing. One thing sucks about the sills they've been shipping for about the past 5 years. The sticker overlay is not as good as the original part. On the original parts the overlay is more even and not wavy like the newest parts. Not huge but noticeable. I'm expecting the M3 sills to be NLA soon so last time I bought them (for my sedan no less) I bought two sets to have an extra.

@@MrPizzaman09 the ‘seal’ is a more rubbery part that is part of the sill. It’s all one piece… just the seal area is not plastic but rubber but bonded to the plastic as one piece. So you need to buy the whole sill

That's sound deadening for gearbox sits around the shifter on e36 it's just removed, and not fitted back yet.

He mentioned in one of his vlogs he doesn’t like the euro wheels - wants to keep US OEM. I agree though, I’m an OEM+ guy but had no problem whatsoever replacing the stock 4-spoke with euro wheel w/ airbag. The last time I refreshed the interior I had that German eBay guy tainik redo my arm rest and bought euro wheel and bought new OEM shift knob and boots. Looks fantastic and oem
