I would say Excellent overall, for a 1st major test run, Minus an exhaust pipe which can be shortened a few inches on each side, The gearing worked out great, while it may not be perfect or low enough etc, didnt fuss ( as you said ) too much at all... Might be 1 of the very few Car based Custom builds that have ever gone through so smoothly, Im sure It's going to turn a lot of heads on the trail's etc.

@TrevorDennis100
@TrevorDennis100 3 жыл бұрын
Would they call that suspension articulation? Whatever they call it, it was epic. Incredible angles and in opposite directions sometimes, and keeping the tires in contact with the ground so all four wheels are pushing you forward. I think Matt mentioned that a lower crawl speed gear would have been good, but if that's all he could think of with a just completed major project, then that is a spectacular success in my book.

man, I've been hooked on this channel for the last few weeks and I love everybody on it. They have such great chemistry together and they do such awesome work with pulling people out of sticky situations and their fab skills are on point too. The best part is that they are all so modest about everything and seem so chill. Usually when you catch a channel about anything off road or shop related stuff it's all in your face, loud music, we're the baddest, OC choppers type horseshit. These guys are just fun and relaxing to watch as they do their thing. Cheers to Matt and his squad, yall seem like good people!

@@MattsOffRoadRecovery There are actually two videos on that. First is called "From Here To There", where they take 3 '60 Corvairs down to the tip of Central America. The second vid is called "Daring the Darien", which was the far more treacherous trek. These were '61 Corvairs. They also had lots of help from 3 Chevy 4-wheel drive trucks. It's worth watching! Love the Corvair, Matt!!!!

And a mud flap behind the front wheels to keep the rockers clean so they can paint them yellow to accent the top yellow, would look much better.

Awesome results! Very happy and proud of you guys for a job well done. Really cool to see that rig perform so well on its first outing. Not just it’s ability to wheel through some really difficult terrain, but the vehicle seemed very reliable. No stalls, overheating or electrical gremlins. A credit to the team, great mechanics and fabricators

Yep, Matt is as happy as an early morning crowing rooster in the middle of a hundred laying hens in the barnyard. When a corvair moves that gracefully over hill and dale, it becomes referred to as a "SHE". So guess the future name might be a female name. Its wonderful to see all the hard work end up so successfully. Matt and Da Crew? Totally awesome!

Hey guys, I briefly said hi to Matt and Rudy by Lite Brite's both. These guys are so down to earth. Thank you Matt and Rudy for bringing us along on your adventures and also demonstrating what a good family looks like...in today's society that's not seen enough.

This is amoungst my favorite episodes of MORR, seeing you and Rudy just out stretching your limits in your amazingly built vehicle. I have watched the whole build series again over the last few days. Such an amazing job. The scenery shots in this episode are off the hook and I wish you would do more of this style of video. Thanks for taking us along.

I lived there for 15 years. Raised my kids there, it was awesome. Now it's so overrun it's not so pleasant. The town permits more than 10 new hotels every year. My friends call it hotel Moab. Then the city went and put a moratorium on air bnb's. It got pretty annoying living there.

@@brenthunsaker9042 My brother and I wanted to build a hotel there in the 80's before Moab started getting popular. The banks turned us down for a loan saying Moab was a dying town. There were only 3 or 4 hotels there at the time with a motel or two shut down for lack of business. We could see the change coming. A couple years later the hotels started popping up. Like you, other locals moved out because it wasn't quaint any more.
