Just a suggestion, your downhill crews should have some mountaineering helmets on for safety. As a medic and wilderness EMT I have been involved with many folks who have sustained very bad head and facial injuries from rock fall. Maybe you can get some custom yellow helmets which also have options to put LED lighting on them for night work. Love you guys! My favorite First Responders!!!

as a construction worker, i have worked with people who have gotten hit in the head and survived because of a cheap piece of plastic strapped to their heads, just be careful about what you wear underneath. someone in my class was wearing a baseball cap, and had a drill fall on his head, he was fine, but it hurt a lot more because the impact was focused on that pin

30:44 Also, a lot of people don’t realize but when you shoot from a drone there is generally no audio so when you see a drone shot and hear winching and rocks tumbling that is either because they have a remote microphone recording separately or they have spliced in audio from another camera. 🙌🏻

Huge bit of advice for your trail jack. Just put a piece of tire or a 2x8 bolted to the bottom but the combo with an old cut of tire rubber on the bottom will make that jack work soooo much better it will blow your mind.

In theory that would work great in your driveway, Also, it's too bad they don't already make a rubberized foot for these, Oh wait... This was one amazing recovery with every obstacle that could have been thrown at this team and they came through from winching the Toyota up that massive incline to moving the winching vehicles into the different positions needed for getting the truck out. Love this video with Jaymie, Jefe, Rhett, Kaulin, and the rest of Matt's team. Thanks to Colby for assisting in this recovery! What great shots of the beautiful scenery! I grew up in this kind of country and going down to the truck was dangerous for the person holding the camera. They should have a couple chest mounted cameras so there's footage they can use to fill in while they get to a safer place. Walking that kind of rock won't kill you but it's compound fractures in a box. Leg on the fall and arm if you get a chance to catch yourself. I think Matt's operation takes safety seriously. So all of this is pointing out where they could improve.

I just wonder how anyone can afford to have this specialized tow truck including a crew and several support vehicles with trailers and everything driving through the entire USA with overnight stay etc. etc. etc. for having their stuck off-road vehicle recovered. I wonder how anyone can pay for all of that. This has got to be 100x the cost of a local on-road tow truck recovering a regular vehicle on the side of the road, and that is already expensive enough. I just wonder how! 😵‍💫

Matt, you should consider putting some folding seats on the back of the wrecker behind the window, where the guys usually ride at. You could use folding seats from the back of an extended cab ranger, and just modify them to fit, they can fold-out of the way when not in use, and it would give your extra guys a place to ride with a little more comfort.

I really enjoy watching your show. I sit in my recline and stress out watching you guys work lots of fun and you mentioned four corners. I was there in the early 1970s. I slept 4 states with a cot I didn’t know it’s a tourist place the next morning there was a tour bus pulled in and woke me up kind of embarrassing, but anyway made memories 👍🏼

Salute to the HOURS of editing and other excellent POV shots that I know ain't easy or quick. Just on a shrug hack level when making the mistake of trying my own "movie" ... or even today with "walking to trail cam" roll. I'm alone but even with a crew, holy hell. One 5-second desired shot can take 40 minutes of running around even without problems! Did I just see a drone shot? Nice.

Matt, and MORR team, I have been a giant fan of you guys and the videos for 5 years or so. I have been watching a ton of videos of Trump’s trials. I despise Trump and what he has done to our country and what he has done to the integrity of the Office of the Presidency. My point in the brief political is to thank you for being available to watch after getting really angry watching Trump and his nonsense. Your videos are fun, and funny, and very educational. Matt I have always appreciated the way you and your team interact with one another Ii is efficient and friendly and gets the jobs done. Watching you guys is pure fun and appreciated. No bad language, no efforts to avoid the inevitable, no slippery plans to mess with somebody, no lies, no intentions to mislead thousands of Americans. You guys are just great people doing good jobs! Last November we were in a RV place in Cedar City while my Ford Truck was getting fixed (another long story) I drove over to Hurricane to see your place. I met Lizzy and Greg, and the dogs, I saw you vehicles, I bought a bunch of stuff in the store/front office. The woman there was very nice. For me it was the highlight of the trip. Keep up with the great videos and interesting jobs. You have a great “bench” of young men to work for years in the future! Don’t stand in the triangle of death! Thanks much, Tim Crawford Jackson, WY

"no one can recover". The angle of the slope is similar to logging in British Columbia (and probably Washington State), where they _routinely_ pull freshly-cut logs up a similar length of slope, usually by "high-lining" -- run a loop of cable from the truck on the road down to an block (with a wheel) connected to an anchor-tree and back to the top. Connect another cable from a "tap" on that loop of cable down to a chain looped around the log. Spin that high-line of cable, and the log gets pulled-up to the road, barely touching the ground at the bottom-end, where a loader pinches the log, picks it up, and maneuvers the log into position onto the deck of a log-carrier. Bring the right equipment, if you have a whole hillside of your allowable cut-block to harvest.

Watching the video at 17:00 Had an idea for a tow truck improvement. You need to fabricate a pully/fairlead type device at the top of the boom. Then under these extreme pulls you could route the winchline from the 3rd rear winch up and over to get extra pulling power on the job. There would be some loss of efficiency because of the angle, you had to pull from but in the cases where you had to use it it would be better than nothing.

makes me think of my tacoma. i was driving home at 1:51 am on a crown road. (canadian) i told my passengers to sleep. that i regret. the person behind me was standing at the end of the crash. no seatbelt, i was on my driver door. please be safer. its not fun to be in this situation, the guilt u put on yourself for putting yourself and most importantly others in danger. overlanding is great. just dont push your limits

Espanola, NM has long been an area of high heroin use (so theft). In 2005 Rio Arriba County had the highest per capita death rate from overdose in the whole U.S. It's weird because it's a pretty place, agricultural economy, with Spanish (since 1600) and Native American cultures, low rider capital of the US. It started with addicted soldiers returning from Viet Nam (lots of vets up there). My wife is from there, her oldest brother died of an O.D. another brother from drug related causes.
