Towards the bottom, you'll see a line titled "RWYs" (meaning 'runways'). Next to that is the list of runways. If there's only one runway, there will be one column with the runway number at the top (next to 'RWYs'). If there are multiple runways, there will be multiple columns. Each column contains runway info, including (if available) the ILS frequency for that runway. Unfortunately there's no runway heading provided, so you have to use your compass tool to measure it manually.

@@HamSandwich277 if you're in the caucasus you also have the landing charts on the kneeboard, with the magnetic heading of the runway, also F10 map is (I think?) in True Heading as opposed to magnetic, so if you're doing that , you will need to take magnetic declination into account (for example, batumi reads 126º in F10 map but chart will tell you 119º, which is the actual heading you'll follow to land), tho some aircraft have an option to select true or magnetic heading, such as the M2000C

Another detail that wasn't mentioned is that besides the ILS cross on the HUD you also get an attitude cueing circle that redirects you precisely into glideslope. I just can't remember how it's called, though. That small circle with a vertical bar on top (the bar on top of the circle only appears when the ILS gathers the valid GlideSlope data and the Horizontal Bar of the Cross starts moving, before this point, it's only that small circle you can see aligned with the Artificial Horizon Line). If you maneuver to position your Flight Path Marker over it, this will guide you to align your localiser and glideslope indication simultaneously. The cue circle keeps moving around on your HUD to correct your course to the proper approach path. So if you follow it precisely, as well as mainitaining your FPM inside the AoA Bracket, this combination will always align you for a perfect landing. Just a matter of practice. It functions in a very similar way to the Landing Mode of the russian aircrafts, where you have to align the two circles in the middle of the hud, and this will align you with the correct landing path.

migkillerphantom trim is just trim.. it trims like the hornet, and like any other plane for that matter.. in landing config you NEED trim in the hornet, but not in the falcon.. @wags Any particular reason you pull stick for aoa instead of trimming (as I’m used to from the Hornet)? Looking forward to the release! Don’t crunch too hard. We appreciate you guys staying healthy!
@Raffson5 жыл бұрын
The FBW of the hornet is slightly different from the falcon/viper in the sense that you don’t have to trim the 16 unless you get damaged and you (partially) lose your FLCS.. so essentially you just aim the nose 10°-13° up and let her glide on the slope.. now there’s two ways to touch down, either you flare the aircraft or add a little power just before you land, or you can do a little of both.. but make sure you don’t go further than 15° nose up as you can strike the tail on the ground and that’s no bueno..
@PhillMagGamerDad5 жыл бұрын
@@Raffson , there is no reason why you couldn't trim instead of holding pitch with the stick. IRL this isn't done though, probably due to the side stick being easier to hold, but this is an assumption on my part. It has nothing to do with the FBW design, just not standard practice. Personally I see myself using trim quite often, as the thought of having to hold back pressure on my centre-mounted stick is very unappealing. I don't think there is a wrong or right here, just standard practise
@Raffson5 жыл бұрын
PhillMag k nvm, after reading your comment again, i confirm my assumptions.. you’re talking about “hold back pressure”.. that’s where you’re misunderstanding the falcon.. once wags put his guncross between 10°-13° nose up, he doesn’t pull back on the stick, the nose stays there and he simply adjusts throttle to move the fpm.. throttle inputs will not make the plane pitch up or down, so in a sense, the falcon is waaaay easier to land than the hornet 😉
@FGtitlis5 жыл бұрын
In FLCS landing mode, viper needs constant back pressure of stick in order to maintain constant pitch angle and is intentionally designed so
@Raffson5 жыл бұрын
FGtitlis that is only the case before you are on-speed aoa.. once you are on-speed aoa, no stick input should be required except for minor corrections.. also, it’s not to maintain constant pitch, it’s to increase aoa that you pull back on the stick, this is needed cause the FLCS maintains pitch and as you slow down, fpm drops and since you want to maintain altitude (assuming you’re catching the GS from below), you need to increase aoa and thus pull back on the stick..
