Cheers @Ashley Burch. The spec isnt anything special but it all works well together. The car failed the mot last year because of leaky front shocks and i found the spax adjustable inserts on the Burton Power website. The only problem is that the low spec struts dont have bolt on steering arms and i want to add more lock.

Hi Marcus I had a flat spot on a 32/36 Carby I modded to get both chokes open at the same time. I found out I needed a twin squirt jet that sits at the top of the carb, seen when the air box is off. Nice tidy setup there, I wish the authorities in Aust would let us Carby or zetecs legally... Mine was running R1 carbs on a home made intake making about 170bhp 👍

Yeh mine has the twin jet Marty. The flat spot isnt that bad to be honest. Its no worse than the flat spot you get from a pinto/crossflow with an aggressive cam fitted.

Hi Marcus, just "stumbled" onto your videos, and they are great inspiration. Wanted to ask why you chose the 32/36 carb and not the typical twin 40/45 DOCE setup?

corbishj Welcome to the channel! I went with the twinchoke to keep things simple and to use a bit less fuel but it ended up making more power than I was expecting. I’ve actually seen DCOE setups make 1 or 2 bhp less than mine does. The DGVs make good power on a standard zetec and it’s a very underestimated setup. Even if I were to fit a modified zetec I would be tempted to use a DGAS if the DGV wasn’t up to it. :)

I fancy a mk2 Escort to use on the road so I can take the family with me and have some fun when they are not with me.I was just wondering what your car cost you to get to this spec???

Will an st 170 fit straight onto a ford Sierra gearbox or do I need a rs2000 bell housing and what flywheel and clutch would I need as I've just got a mk 2 and it's got a mx5 na engine with twin 40s and mx5 gearbox with lancer gsr rear axel and rear disc brakes but I'm looking towards st 170

Im assuming you have a type 9 gearbox then mate?? If so that will bolt up no problem. In a Mk1/2 Escort an RS bellhousing is preferred because it fits in the gearbox tunnel better (altho a big hammer usually gives you the clearance you need for a Sierra bellhousing to fit! 👍). You MAY find the Sierra tunnel is bigger?? but Im not sure tho.
