I jus wanted to say thank you for takin the time out of your life explaining the information you gave in the video. You have no idea, how many KZbinr Trucker videos I have watched and most of them have not gave CLEAR information and gave no examples or nothin. Once again, thank you so much for explaining everything you could thoroughly. I spoke to a Maverick recruiter name Ms. Randi today and she was calm and very polite. Im new to this type of career but I do have some experience but my CDL's are Class B. All I need to do is get my Class A and then I hope Maverick gives me a chance. Great video. 👍🏾

What's the $1000 a week guarantee that maverick has now i keep hearing about? Are you actually guaranteed 1k a week?
@naturalborntrucker5986 жыл бұрын
Yeah good question, I forgot to mention that. It's $1000 guarantee for new drivers and I think up to $1200 for experienced drivers. You have to be available to drive every day to be eligible, and with these pay raises if you're driving every day it's almost impossible to drop below $1000 pre taxes. I'm thinking the only way I'd ever lean on this is if I had a 1-2 day breakdown or got stuck out in a storm or something.

@naturalborntrucker5985 жыл бұрын
Maverick is an all automatic fleet. I highly recommend testing for your CDL on a manual, however, so you don't get the restriction on your license. Who knows who you'll be driving for in the future. Maverick's CDL school at Little Rock is new since I started and I don't know much about it, including how much it costs. Anyone have that info? I do know you have to drive USA for a period of time before you can go regional.

3 months plus a short hair cut should do you right. Don’t opt for giving body hair, it grows slower. Stay clean and opt for head hair. If you want to be absolutely sure pay to get a hair follicle test before going to Little Rock.

Hey do they do urine rest of hair test i been stop smoking just like to know?
@naturalborntrucker5985 жыл бұрын
DOT is urine, but Maverick does their own hair follicle test. Several guys got urine retest after trainer truck. I’d be clean before coming on, smartest move is to stay clean thereafter. Positive test puts you at the bottom of the food chain, not worth the risk IMO.
@kentcambl5 жыл бұрын
Hey Twist Blank, I got this info from videos made by the actual testing labs. The hair follicle test can go back 1 month for every half inch of hair. They normally take an inch and a half so that would go back 3 months. Body hair can go back a bit further because it generally grows slower. Darker hair will have more of the drug in it than blonde or grey hair. I usually keep my head shaved, but I am going back to the trucking lifestyle in about 5 months so I am gonna let it grow because I would rather them take it from my head than anywhere else. Also, if you do not have enough hair for them to test, then they won't hire you. Best thing to do is to go to a lab that does hair testing and get a clean test before you go to a company. They are less than $100.

That's only if you go through the new Maverick CDL school they have at their Little Rock terminal. They pay your way and you pay them back by signing a 2 yr contract and driving USA division for 6 months. If you finance your CDL you are a free agent, which is the only way to go imo.

So you are saying as a USA driver, if you want to get home every 2 weeks that they only allow you a 34 reset time at home?? Like getting home Friday late afternoon and having to roll Sunday morning???
@naturalborntrucker5986 жыл бұрын
Not Sunday morning, typically Sunday evening or Monday morning. You'll get more than your 34 most times, but no guarantees it'll be a full 48. Mav policy is all loads must drop by 10am Monday regardless of the appointment window. So if your drop is 150 mi from home and you want to leave out 6am Monday you can. But obviously if you leave out Sunday night you'll be a step ahead and pushing off from the drop with a fresh clock. When you get home is pretty much out of your control, but when you push out depends on how hard you want to run.
@mbjasondify6 жыл бұрын
I always hated that 10 am Monday bs they hang over your head. I ran USA division for 2 years and would barely get my 34 in before the dilemma of having to leave out early on a Sunday to make the 10 am Monday appt. My opinion is that Maverick doesn't give 2 shits about the drivers home time it's push push push with a 34 every 2 weeks. That's one reason I left there. Better sweeter driving opportunities out there with experience. Plus the micromanaging and Nazi Safety department who demean you with the most minor issues. Glad to move on from there.
@naturalborntrucker5986 жыл бұрын
@@mbjasondify Key there is 'with experience'. I think there are other companies worth serious consideration, but they require 6mo - 1yr+ experience. Gotta earn your stripes somewhere to open those doors. 2 shits about home time I guess is relative. It's rare to get stuck out at Maverick, not so at many other places. Yes 34 hrs is not a real weekend. That's why I'd stay out 3-4 weeks and go home empty on a Thursday to leave out Monday. Guess that's part of the price you pay to make $80k. Haven't experienced any micromanaging, quite the opposite actually. Pretty free bird out here. Safety has a job to do, just have to know where the hotspots are and learn how not to trip the trip wires.
