Apologies for the delay once again. The original recording we both did had terrible audio, so I begged to redo it. Also, I have decided to make an account on BlueSky, which apart from it being better than Twitter, will also where I can make easier announcements for upcoming streams and sharing other stuff, including photos. Feel free to come along: bsky.app/profile/mhdaniel.bsky.social

32:42 the reason for the weird fronts on new buses is because Khan wanted “safety fronts” for new buses so if someone gets hit it’s safer (as if a curved front makes 18 tons of bus not kill you). It’s also why wright did that ugly facelift for the streetdecks and kites

When I visited Hull not too long ago, I was impressed by how integrated it all was, made onwards travel feel very seamless!

To Avanti's (lack of) credit, GWR pull off the exact same nonsense out of Paddington - with information regarding departures often withheld right until the last second. And oh boy, anyone can tell you how MASSIVE the gap between the train and the platforms are at Paddington. No, I will NOT be pole-vaulting onto the damn train.

This is true, but at least Paddington can deal with the crowds better than Euston. The latter is way too pokey to accommodate a rush.

to be fair, they're both ran by First. which is probably why they both suck

Its every 30 minutes on the SBL now. 20 and then 40 minute headways were when it was 3 trains per 2 hours!

@@XNick291X Yaaay, so it's an acceptable frequency now.

@MaverickHunterDaniel Still awful in terms of passenger experience, 165's/166's are not suited to the stop start nature of the Bristol commuter network

@XNick291X Maybe we should do a resurrection to bring back the 143s to the Severn Beach Line :)

lol im surprised west sutton didnt make it in as one of the worst, its definitely a terrible station in dire need of a refresh [the footbridge is being upgraded right now so i guess thats good]

surpised south bank didnt get a shout for the worst category F, as in my opinion that place is a shambles, to start it's surrounded by industry and on the end of a very minor road, secondly it has no step free access and the platform layout is shocking and thirdly the eastbound platform is shut for the forseeable future because of an unsafe footbridge, really a very neglected and uncared for station. oh and worst of all, its in middlesbrough
@MaverickHunterDaniel2 ай бұрын
Okay, those are all really good reasons and I was actually planning to film some trains there during my Middlesbrough trip a while ago. South Bank certainly gets a dishonourable mention however, it actually serve the South Bank area and gets an hourly daytime service, two things Pilning doesn't offer. Also massive lol at the footbridge issue. Just read up about it, since it's at the council's mercy, it could be a very loooooong time before someone there gives a damn to fix it. Just look at Hammersmith Bridge if you need an ongoing example.

HS2 with 6 platforms. SE have 3 HS1 platforms at St Pancras with a 15 minute frequency. 6 is enough
@MaverickHunterDaniel2 ай бұрын
SE's trains also lack catering and can have turnaround times as short as 10 mins, not to mention having routes that rather short in comparison. With HS2 (under the huge assumption that the whole plan goes ahead), there will be 9tph, more than double what SE has. I still think 6 is a bit too low. though for now it would be acceptable. Besides, it's still ages away before HS2 carries a test train, let alone any passengers.
