Mavic Air Battery Mod (Semi Tut and Test Flight)

This is a video where I tested the Modded DJI Mavic Air Battery (combined 2 Mavic Air batteries with 3s2p configuration) and see if it was worth it.
So far so good. Just regret breaking one of the connectors on the board of the battery, where I planned originally to connect to. So that I would have Battery Telemetry Information and be able to monitor the cells.
Oh well. Moving on. Instead, I directly connected the Positive and Negative wires from the batt to the pins to the connectors.
I also used the shell of the battery to hold the modded battery in place. Removed the switch also inside of the shell. Don't need it anymore (but if I did not break the connector, it would have been used, still).
Some additional info in the middle of the test video, so please watch it without skipping. I know it is somewhat long but hope it could give you ideas and thoughts about the mod.
I got around 60% additional flight time with it. I usually only get 15 ish minutes with the stock batts. While with the modded batt, I got around 25 minutes (maximum drain) flight time.
I also need to do a firmware refresh because I think I messed something up regarding the battery's critical low voltage.
Will test again and update the information as soon as possible.

I used 3 18650's 3500mah , soldered them in place of the original cells . had to velcro them to the battery case also. Then I unsealed the chip , reset it. After about 2 flights , the old batteries computer married pretty good with the percentage amount on the screen while flying. First flight , it said I had about 26% left, but the drone did a critical low voltage landing. Second flight it went all the way down to 15% which is the go home setting I have set. The battery's chip learned the new battery's capacity .

Not good, you lose data (telemetry) about battery %. Also to add more weight than cca100g not prolonged your flight becouse motors need more current.

No. Just buy a 4Hawks Range extender. Google it. Not that expensive, yet massive distance increase

@@user-sp5bn6ye8y ...so is the Yagi/Parabolic Combo Amazon....16 bucks. On 5.8ghz...you can go 15 thousand + feet without a drop out with 300 to 400 ft altitude. You will run out of battery life before you run out of signal.

Instead of increasing the weight of the battery, you should try to strip the drone so it will get lighter... Probably that way it would fly for a longer time. If you do this reply to this comment so I can check

Same as te old one, but you will not find similar lipo cells that fits into the case
