I am 57 years old used to fly RC planes. I bought my first drone about 2 months ago from a neighbor it was a Pro Mark It was fun at first now I am bored with it. I just bought a Maverick pro off Amazon I know I am a few years behind but I think this be the best drone for me right now I've been watching your videos I cannot wait for it comes in. Thank you for your videos it made me very excited and I believe I will really enjoy flying drones. A new beginning.

Excellent videos! Thank you for breaking it down for those of us beginners. Much appreciated! Incidentally, you mentioned in your video that you have never been able to use the "Display Radar Map" feature. I have that turned on with my Mavic Pro, and what that does is on your phone or tablet (whatever device you're using), you'll see a curved bar that looks similar to what you see on backup monitors in vehicles, and when that "radar bar" appears to touch an object on your screen (hence, meaning your drone is without a few feet of an object), your controller will start to beep - slowly at first, and then it beeps faster and faster the closer you move to that object. So, as stated, it works exactly like the backup monitors and sensors on a vehicle. :)

Gimbal Buffer is the time it takes for the gimbal to actually stop moving after you stop scrolling the wheel. If it's set at 0 it has a hard stop when you stop moving, more means it glides a little more after you stop scrolling to give it a more natural feel. And the "Radar" that you already had on, that's the obstical avoidance radar, when you're flying too close to something, those green/yellow/red bars that show where the obstical is.

I just bought Mavic pro 2 there is so much information in just getting set up it is over whelming. I am using your videos as step by step tutorials for my smart controller and taking notes for when I go to fly. Yes, I am very nervous about my first time flying. Hi, I’m enjoying your videos and your point of view from a novice quad/drone owner. I have spent the majority of my 30+ year RC career flying fixed wing aircraft and have only recently entered the world of Quad/Drones. I live in colorful Colorado and am now being confronted with all of the places in this beautiful state that I may not be able to fly my Mavic. ☹️😠 One of the big selling points for me was all the beautiful scenery I would be able to capture with this new platform. Keep up the great work. I look forward to following your channel.

Hi, thanks for yet another great video! Your videos have helped me a lot. Here are a couple things I've learned that might go toward paying it forward (just a little)... Display Radar Map: This enables a display that appears on your screen when you get within about 30 feet of an object in front of the Mavic. It shows some arc-shaped bands that represent radar waves. The bands change color and segments of the bands disappear when an obstruction is detected. It also shows you how far away the obstruction is, in feet (or meters if you chose that mode). I know I'm not explaining it very well, but turn it on and fly up close to an obstruction to see what I am attempting to describe. Gimbal Start/Stop Buffering: As you mentioned, this makes the gimbal motion start and end gradually. Since the number is the amount of buffer (not speed), however, a higher number makes it start and stop more slowly. I turned the actual gimbal speed down first, which helped a lot, then later raised the buffering (start/stop smoothness) up to 18. I didn't like this as well because I have gotten used to controlling the "ramp" up and down speed with the button on the controller, which is actually speed-proportional to how far you move it. The added buffer was throwing my timing off, plus when you let the control back to the center the gimbal would continue to move a little further as it ramps down. As you mentioned, there are no "correct" settings - just the ones that work best for you, but hopefully my observations will help someone else get theirs dialed in. Thanks again for all your contributions!

Enable radar map was already turned on. So at 2:50, see that little map down in left corner? In the upper right corner of that map is a circle within a circle with a cross through both circles (radar). I was told "You should NEVER disable it even if you could. It is the most useful tool in flying as it tells you exactly what the orientation of the drone is so you can quickly bring it home with the correct stick movement without having to guess." On a small phone screen you have to tap the map icons in the corners to change the map to other views. If you tap the center of that map, it maximizes to full screen, tap the center again of where the little map used to be and it will minimize. On a larger screen such as a tablet, the map and radar may be separate, you will have the map and the radar on either bottom corner of screen. I read: That radar is very important. It has a great deal of information which includes: - Direction that the craft is from you. The little white triange at the top of the circle represents the front side of your controller. This should be lined up with the craft (the red triangle) for optimal signal. - The direction that the craft is pointing. When you want to fly the craft home, you orient the red triangle so that if points toward the middle of the circle (depending on how far away the craft is away from you), which is toward you. - The shaded half circle shows your roll (left and right lean) and pitch (forward and backward lean). When you press the right stick toward the left, the shaded half circle will tilt, representing the angle of the craft. This lets you know that the craft is responding. - In sports mode, the outside of the radar will be the tachometer. When you push the right stick forward and/or left stick forward, the RPM (or Power) will increase and is represented by the line around the outside of the circle. The line goes clockwise around the radar circle. The line is green and with more speed turns blue. For maximum efficiency and max flight distance, keep the RPM/power line near the green/blue intersection.

You do a great job on your tutorial videos. I have relied on them greatly to get acquainted with my MAVIC Platinum. I like your professional delivery better than others who contribute such videos. But I wonder if you ever figured out that the antennas on the RC are designed to be rotated upward, and not pulled outward as you have been doing. That is why you felt resistance. No resistance when rotated into operating position.

great job, this is the most complete instruction on all those screen icon's/settings. recently got into drones and purchased the Yuneec Breeze (got it for $200 new so could not pass up on this deal). although I know the Breeze is more of a toy class drone, it's still packed with cool features and a blast to fly. I now want to purchase a Mavic. Question, I currently have a 4 year old android phone (droid turbo) it works fine with the Breeze, when using the Mavic will I need to switch out my phone for a recent release IPhone? if so what would you recommend? thanks for any comments.
@51Drones6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No, I don't think you would need to switch. Yes, it seems the Iphones have less problems when it comes to the software, but I'm pretty sure your Android would work. If not, you can always get an older Samsung Galaxy or even the Iphone 5. You don't have to put so much money into your mobile device.
