The link above will take you to a video made by @FireSonic225 trying out this challenge. In a completely radical sequence of events, they were able to complete that level. That brings the total to 23/46, so now 50% of this game is beatable without the analog stick.

Damn, I remember trying this and just leaving it as a wip... glad someone made it tho Edit: There are some tricks that weren't shown in this vid. Here's what I've learned while trying the challenge out myself... 1. Slide is a godsent. If you spam slide as either modern sonic or the avatar, you'll keep sliding since the initial slide gives a boost of speed 2. You can complete prison hall without any upgrades. The slide works just fine, especially if you use the slide trick 3. You can actually get through the lazer section of the pyramid with keen use of dashing down. It's tricky, but gives many a style point 4. Sunset heights does have a slide trick. Sidestep on the edge on and off of it, and your position will be misaligned slightly, leading to a slide. Sadly, it's impossible due to a spring that changes your direction, and is unable to bypass it 5. Once again, slide spamming works here too in the avatar level before the infinite boss fight 6. Cube wisp shreds infinite, and he usually stays in the center of the screen. If he moves, find a hire able avatar with either drill or lazer to deal long range damage and close in for cube 7. Imperial tower is actually possible, you need to use a drill and lazer wispon, and good use of their wisp powers all throughout the level 8. Sonics last level should be able to be cleared at the start with slide as well, but didn't know sidestep worked as well 9. The final boss, especially the avatar, it worked for me with i think drill and either burst or hover. This was a huge pain to beat, but it worked well. Just get towards the back, and repell projectiles with hover, using drill to move. 10. That avatar trick to turn around is something I only found by accident. It usually ruined a run instead of helping tho. That was about all I found. I hope this challenge was ok on your sanity, cus I know for me I never wanted to even touch forces after this

My first playthrough of this game I did a boostless run, turns out this game is about 99% beatable without boosting. The only part that requires boosting is the last segment of the final boss. (Just to clarify, I didn't count double boosts as boosting since the game does them itself without my input. That being said, the triple boost dose count since not spamming the boost button results in death.)

As one of five people who enjoyed this game (im a sucker for character creation), this was a delight. Also congrats on the job!
@isenokami7810 Жыл бұрын
I would not count myself as one of those five people who liked Forces, but a part of me wants to be. There are some good ideas here, they’re just wasted on this game. The avatar is my prime example. Character creation aspect aside, they were my favorite character to play as: maybe not that different from modern Sonic, but all the differences that were there had potential. The wispons were…kinda broken honestly, but open the gate for a mashup of Sonic speed and spectacle fighter, kinda like what the Spark the Electric Jester games tried to do. The grappling hook, while mostly just a homing attack substitute and otherwise automatic, would fit in great with that. Sure, these are just my own wishes, but they’re proof of potential in the avatar’s kit that wasn’t realized in Forces, and yet having those tools in the first place still made them the most fun to me. The squandered idea thing goes beyond wishful thinking, too. Still mainly with the avatar, a few stages seemed super cool, still kinda fun to play through, but just didn’t get their chance to shine with the tiny stage lengths. Aqua Road is my prime example: a fun little water ride to some nice music (yes I kinda like the OC stage music) in Forces, but it could’ve been so much more as a longer and more realized level, a maze of water slides where risking your life and launching yourself off to another segment is often rewarded. Prison Hall’s also on there for cool factor, though in that case it might actually be just the right length. And while many might see it as a negative, I enjoyed how the likes of Arsenal Pyramid utilized the wisps: maybe it’s a bit much for lightning to let you skip the entire back half, but I very much enjoyed the idea of getting access to new routes depending on what Wispon you bring in and thus what wisp type is active. I still can’t like this game fully: it’s short, it’s dumb, and the title character is either a nothing burger as modern or terrible as classic. And yet I still find myself liking almost everything about the avatar and wishing they were in a better game.

Fun story with me and Forces: it kind of sprouted the seeds for my main OC Ise (in my profile pic). First time around, I kinda just wanted to make Persona 5 Morgana, but for some reason decided against it and just made his fur green instead…only to unlock the Joker outfit after the first couple stages. Little guy didn’t mean much to me on that run, but fast forward a bit to when I was thinking of making a sona, and the fur color and fashion sense popped back into my head. Well, with some design changes to the coat of course: issues with just taking Joker’s aside, I wanted him to have his own style. A bit later, I made another run of Forces; with Ise now a fully realized OC, I went into avatar creation with his current form in mind. Couldn’t really make him exactly, but I was pretty happy with the outfit I ended up with. Funnily enough, he still wore the Joker coat the second time around, just because it’s the one trench coat in the entire wardrobe. Go figure.

Similar due to being the same species, but the smaller details are pretty much all completely different. I decided to do something, that's basically the opposite of this Can you beat Sonic Forces without boosting, and only using the Burst Wispon The answer to the second part, is yes The answer to the first part, is no Not counting the Double Boost sections (I decided not to, because a) it's automated. And b) You don't have to do the button prompt), You have to boost, during the final section of the final fight You also need to do the Triple Boost I would have added "no Spin Dash" but... with how bad Classic's physics are, you get stuck in like. I think his first or second level I will say though, I had a lot of fun playing Forces this way. It's not exactly one of my favourite Sonic games. But I still like it

I find it completely funny that only 48% of levels can be beaten with out the analog stick, but I gaurantee that if Sonic (and Shadow I guess) had the homing attack boost (pushing A/X midair giving you a small nudge forward) that Sonic Unleashed and Generations had instead of the double jump that number probably could have gotten up to 60%
