The brilliant thing about Max pointing at the ground and screaming "LET'S GO" is that while his opponent will take that as an invitation for both men to swing wildly to the end, Max actually _doesn't_ just swing wildly. You could see it against Lamas, where Max is still slipping shots while landing his own, and you could see it against Gaejthe, where Justin is throwing wild haymakers while Max is ducking and aiming. Max is true calculated chaos.

THANK YOU for bringing up Holloway's teeps, I don't think the commentary mentioned them even a single time, instead we had Joe trying to make the fight seem close by overstating the value of Gaethje's leg kicks... Max's kicks were insanely effective at interrupting Gaethje's starts, any time he'd start to throw Max would teep his knee and Justin would be forced to reset. Max's kicks were absolutely surgical on Saturday night, huge key to his victory.

people have underrated max's power for years. even in the poirier rematch, he hurt him multiple times. that fight is way closer than ppl remember...if that knee didn't cut him (he no-sold the power of the strike), he might've won that fight. regarding hill, i'm still just amazed that guy got back in the octagon 9 months after tearing his fucking achilles. that is mental...and imo he basically did the ufc a solid here. next fight for him should be jiri, and it should be after a good amount of time off. if pereira beats ankalaev and hill beats jiri, hill could get back in there for a rematch similar to the initial plan of makhachev/oliveira 2. he's definitely got his work cut out for him tho
