According to an old IGN interview with the creator of FF15…yes, he did want to make it a musical…and yes, it was because he saw Hugh Jackman in le mis once the previous day after which he decided to storm into his bosses office trying to convince him to make the game a musical instead.

@@Airier if you take too long on those it will be a half an hour of watching a man spaz out in his chair with the video pause. Half of that for the MGR review and literally every five minutes if th ultrakill review if you even live to see it. Im seriously autistic and have some batshit old and even I gave up and subjected myself to pick up on other jokes missed through various reactions and the comment section. You cannot possibly live through the overload and if you do you may just do something as batshit as download something worse than RAID or FGO. I dont know what it could be and I dont want to because I'm not lower than a crustacean.

Ramuh just wanted people to leave him alone, Leviathan was pissed that people kept polluting her oceans, Ifrit gave us fire because he could, shiva just wanted to live with her husband Ifrit, Titan caught a meteor to save humanity, and Bahamut put in place the system to save everyone.

You clearly didn’t read the book, ( which was what the canceled episodes were turned into) because Bahamut is the villain of the story as he turned Ardyn into the scourge monster, kept Noctus in the crust for ten years to make him willingly kill himself to defeat Ardyn, and was fought both physically and spiritually as the “final boss” at the end. His motivation is absolute control, and if you change Bahamut’s name to Bhunivelze it starts to be make much more sense

@@pillarsofsnow7940 First off, if your argument is 'read the book', then you may as well have not typed anything. I didn't accept that as an argument for Star Wars, and I won't accept that as an argument for FF15. Secondly, even if I accepted that argument, there are still five other gods that were either on the side of the Luci, or at least neutral. As such, it doesn't change the fact that four out of the six gods of this game were on the side of good, and of the two that weren't, one died while trying to save the world before being strung around as a corpse puppet by Ardyn.

The guy from the painting at around 12 mins in is Charles II of Spain, member of the Habsburg family, and known for being incredibly ugly. That painting wasn’t an exaggeration, the generations of incest really were hitting that hard for the Habsburgs. Feel free to look them up in your own time, but the fact that the term “Habsburg Jaw” is a thing should give you an indicator as to how bad things got. Surprisingly, I think there are still living Habsburgs today, though with decidedly less “keeping it in the family.” At least I hope so.

I never made it out of the starting zone before I updated my rig from a laptop to full PC & never bothered re-installing it yet, game is what made me realize how old my laptop was (low res EVERYTHING mixed with ZERO shading, I could play with mid-tier setting but then I risked melting something)

Having only played the royal edition I gotta say the game managed to make me care more about the characters than 90% of the certified masterpiece games I played. Is it perfect? No. Is it the most amazing gaming experience ever? No. Did it manage to make me care about these 4 boys and their journey ? Absolutely. Did I gave fun playing the game? Definitely.

it gets worse/better. all those cut DLC's were actually gonna lead to a new alternative ending which imo was way better than the default but now if you wanna know what would've happened, you gotta buy the novel :D

oh wow that brings back memories of pain and ptsd - yeah just from what I can remember that game was just bad -a promised big epic roadtrip which was just one big circle around a meteorite with lots of old usa-diners around a high-tech tokyo-like city -loads of characters that just appeared for one time and then dissapear completely... -bad/unfair fighting with annoying potion usage aniamtions... -me actually falling asleep during waiting ingame - thanks to extra dungeons that only opens at night but you can only fast-forward to morning (where the dungeons close...) -a carneval dlc you could onl play during 1-2 weeks after that the dlc got locked (how dumb in an ofline/single player rpg...) -and a weird story that gave even me headaches even though I thought I had seen some bad stuff... all I got ou of it was that somehow ifrit got evil and somehow parallel that black evil stuff appeared and all the other gods couldnt defeat that one single god so they turned noctis family into a breeding project where all his ancestors life/power got send into the ring until it was charged enough through noctis to blow evil up after some weird timeskip plus that somehow relevant weid evil guy that sealed up the black evil stuff in himself in the past and got treated as the bad guy for that so he became actually bad? (there was later on an extra animation about this point of his time and his brother(?) but it just felt weird when I watched that...) have to try to check up on the story sometime again maybe when I find the motivation to do the other character dlc or I should just start a new rund alltogether so basically FF XV destroyed all motivation/trust for the time being into square enix and the series for me FF XIV was fun but lack of time for me to continue though at least not 0% motivation like for XVI and all the other weird (mobile)spin-off stuff mfg Olli

Funily enough once you have the habit of keeping your figer on the dodge buton while waiting to use igis "persecussion" skill even doing the hardest mobs slightly under level is a cakewalk its just that every fight last 10 to 15 min :) The worst was definitly the post game dungeon lvl99 where you can't use item that thing was a nightmere.

Never played FFXV because I haven't been able to persuade myself to touch any Final Fantasy game to come out after X-2. I like to pretend the series ended there...although the more time that passes the more I am tempted to give FFXIV a pass and try it out because actually looks fun. More than I can say for the other FF titles for the past decade...

FF15 is one of the worst fuckups from japan(not counting any from soft games) the other being nier automata where 95% of the story was only released later in a stage performance and literally none of the main characters plots thats supposed to be the crux of it was put in the actual game. And also the prequel manga which already within a few issues has more character development and character you care about then the entire game. A lesser example of this is the devil may cry 5 manga "visions of V" which feels more like a directors cut but damn is it good and i hope they eventually make it into a short anime because it gives so much extra character to V and the plot of DMC5 which is already solid but the manga raises it above the other DMC games

Using Nier automata and DMC V as example for ffxv is straight up wrong. The “other media materials” like stage plays, novels, mangas from both games were made and released on purpose, *regardless* of the game's story completion, while ffxv is just literally incomplete in both in-game and story contents like Metal Gear Solid 5. Those materials were intentionally made not because the story is unfinished, but purely for the dedicated fans that want to enhance the experience knowing the lore and characters that they're so in love with. Other DMC games did the same thing too. And not to mention, other games like Blazblue, God eater, Guilty gear,... also did the same thing, but on wider scale. Yoko Taro also did this with Drakengard1-3 and Nier to further expanding their lore and world building. It's not the first time he used bizarre ways to put the lore/story just for the sake of pranking/trolling his fans, so the stage plays are definitely strange but not surprising if you know the guy. "That mf would bury bits of lore in treasure chests all around the world and put the coordinates on the back of 0.02% of all physical copies. Oh, and only japanese copies, to f@ck people's ass even more" - Yoko taro fanbase.
