A lot of the really off-the-wall tricks players can do are so fast and technical that anyone unfamiliar with Ultrakill would have no idea what they're looking at, but "You can parry this man" is clear as crystal. Heaven didn't like that and sent Gabriel down to kill him. EDIT: Minos was already in Hell for a while and only began converting Lust into a paradise after Heaven was thrown into a civil war.

Minos has been in Hell for a very long time, it was only when God himself disappeared and the angels were all having a panic attack/civil war in heaven that Hell had the opportunity to reinvent itself.
