I went to Honda School of Portland and got my Full Tech Cert in 1985 and can't say how embarrassing it is to find I accidentally mounted a tire wrong...not just once either. (Never mounted them without catching it AS I REINSTALLED so no foul but suffice it to say, like you said, it does happen.) All it takes is a distraction from another mechanic needing help with his problem...I don't care who you are....Every Mechanic has done this at least once. Anyone that says they haven't is either forgetful or fibbing...just kidding. I probably got lucky. I have a 2005 Goldwing (non-ABS), and I just changed the tire. All I did was take the wheel off the bike, and take it and the new tire to my favorite shop, and they did all the technical stuff. The only SNAFU I encountered was a cracked pinch bolt, which came out okay but snapped off as I was torquing it to spec. I noticed it was tightened too far as I loosened it, and the wrench didn't even click before the bolt snapped, so I'm blaming a previous owner for this one. Should be an easy fix. (Now I'm looking for wood to knock on...)

Hi Max. I've watched several of your videos since I purchased my 2021 Godlwing from Shawnee Powersports in OK. You're information is very helpful, especially when you start cutting off crap that isn't needed that makes removing and remounting certain parts easier. I've experienced an intermittent problem with my bike that I can't seem to find a video for. I have less than 3K on the bike so far but occasionally when I'm coming into a sharp turn and I'm preparing to downshift to use the engine brake the engine will die when I pull in the clutch; downshift; and hold the clutch for a few seconds in preparation for entering the turn. I don't realize it's happened until I let out the clutch and the momentum of the bike "pop-starts" the engine again. Have you heard of this before? Please say yes! Thanks for your help in advance and for you being you.

That's a pretty good idea for a video. I'll add that to the list. But in the meantime, you can use something to wedge the rear brake or have your wife step on it while you remove and install the lug nuts. I'm not laying my motorcycle on its side. That's caveman crap.

Monimoto. A battery powered gps tracker with motion detection. It calls your phone if it moves. Uses a fob you keep in your jacket to disengage. Not too pricey either. Works great!

Way to much crap on all vehicles today! Thats why I own an 1986 Goldwing; so much simpler!

If you mount a tire backwards you are an idiot.... guess I'm an idiot then. Had the damn wheel and tire mounted back on the bike before I noticed it. I knew better but just got in a hurry and messed up.

If you mount enough tires, it will happen eventually, even if you know better!

You are clearly more than 17 years old, so whats with the beanie..???

It's Glock Firearms winter hat. They don't sell pistols to 17 year old kids, so whatever you perception is of a winter hat being worn in the winter, is just a high level of ignorance.
